The sequels turned Kratos into an idiot. He was supposed to be successful general, but here and in GOWIII he walks right into every obvious trap set for him.

For five minutes, and he's idiot when he isn't a god. Besides, stupidity in the myths is no excuse to make the protagonist an idiot. They just did that here because it's easier to write a story where the main character is a dolt than if he's smart.

Yes well I'd think it would show creatively if they didn't make him so dumb. Hell this how game shows how imaginative they are. When I heard about a sequel, I had hopes for all the sorts of things that could happen, and then I find it's just another revenge story. Really, you talk about creative part of the game world, but as far story goes, this and GOWIII are little more than an overly drawn out rehash of the original.

Yes, he's overpowered, that's exactly why Ares killed him in the last game by throwing a pillar at him, and he nearly got killed by a falling statue here before getting his ass kicked by Zeus, lost his first fight to Carron in the next game, and after that needed the power of hope to kill Zeus, lost to Diemos in Ghost of Sparta, and needed Diemos' help against Thanatos.

@dragonstormx umm, he was weaker vs Thanatos because he had to be careful not to hit Deimos(though u cant hit his in game). The pillar t6hat Ares threw was unexpected and came from nowhere. Zeus came without Kratos expected it either.

@dragonstormx Ares killed him by surprise. Plus: he didn't have the box's power yet. The falling statue WAS stupid, but he returned, meaning hes about immortal. Zeus kicked his ass cz he was weakened by that attack. Who the fck is Carron? Hope is the power that resides in everyone, so actually, that power was already inside Kratos. He lost to Deimos cz he held back, he can't kill his own brother. And he didn't need his help, Deimos just helped him without asking Kratos if he needed any help.
