Isn't military grade body armor fairly fire resistant? Just saying. However drowning is one of the highest causes of death for our soldiers in the middle east after bullets and IED's. Thats why a quick release has been added to the MTV and IOTV.

@mightytactical actually, you'll find that most military grade bullet proof vests are flame resistant... the only way one of them is going up is with phosphorus or napalm... both of which will likely kill the person anyway.

If Your runing around all day You vest Gets realy hot, Bleave it or not...And Its nice to have a quick pull away, That and if your wounded they can get to you faster idk realy but its nice to have.

@LoneWolf8003 at the start of the Iraq war, people would be hit under the arms, or from the ribs. The armor we were using at the time made accessing these spots almost impossible to reach and the person would end up dead. So now, they have these quick things, makes it easier to treat wounded.
