I might be thinking too far out of my helmet, but I wonder just how good a pilot Marida is if she has to spam her way through two grunt units. Granted, Lalah and Haman both used plenty of beam spam themselves, but they were fighting Gundams at the time. Am I throwing criticism where it doesn't belong, or am I right to question Marida's skill? (I haven't read the manga, so my knowledge of Unicorn is only current up to the third OAV.)

All that Haman could do with funnels was follow her suit and fire, and she just had to concentrate on using 10. Marida can use 24 at once and do much more advanced maneuvers with her funnels than Haman or Lalah. So in my opinion, she's pretty skilled!

You saw how it took a raging gundam just to destroy a few, I think they can dodge bazooka shells... and even if they couldn't, there were no explosions (other than the concussive shells and downed jegans) so i'd say she just deployed the remaining funnels to finish off the stark jegan more easily (since the pilot was pretty skilled as well)

Haman Karn gave a good fight in Zeta and ZZ with her Quebeley with the newly developed funnel system. Char was always a formidable opponent in the UC timeline with anything.

@EmaEiishi Another thing I missed from the original timeline was that mobile suits actually had to worry about propellant and ammunition as shown in the operation in Gundam 0083 Stardust Memories where the fleet was chasing a decoy and did not have enough fuel to turn around, and was also the reason why mobile suits had to reboard their ships to refuel and get more ammo hence the concept for beam cartridges for many of the UC mobile suits.

@EpilepticTofu You see my friend, you're drifting off your point. What sparked the debate here was my views that the MA that you pointed out is unoriginal. Previous mobile amours that contain SIMILAR specs have long being created and lets not forget that "fangs" is from a direct line of funnels.
On a side note, watching green and red lines clashing about isn't what mecha is about. Trans-arm undoubtfully is one of the worst functions Sunrise has come up with.

Actually, the 00 MA is superior to the Rafflesia. I never cared much for it to begin with. Now the Val Varo, THAT is a nice MA.. which is probably why I like the Gundam 00 one since it has a similar design. To be honest very, very few MA's make use of remote weaponry such as funnels, and any new one that does so should be welcome with open arms. Shame on you.
I don't remember it sucking. I thought it pulled too heavily from Zeta for the second season and needed a bit more originality, but it was great to see the big-beam gundam not being the lead gundam for once. Sure it had its faults, but at least in the movie they were bold enough to make Gundam's first aliens surprisingly realistic and actually alien and not just more humanoids with slightly different features from us like most sci-fi's do. It was no SEED, you have to admit that.

Well, Kshatriya is likely a descendant of Quin Mantha, which itself is a combination of best features of Qubeley series and Psycho Gundam Mk-II. So, yeah, Kshatriya is definitely more powerful than a Qubeley.
@Kanuskiz Kshatriya is a descendent of quin mantha, but you have to remember that its a downgraded and economical version of the 40 meter giant that hamman khan piloted. it says so in the original novel.

Gundam Unicorn is something of an oddity. The series is, for all intents and purposes, a fanfic. It is technically not canon, yet it was written so well, and with such an ear to the series it is representing, that it truely did deserve to be made. It should serve as a lesson and an example to other writers of fanfiction.
@Rayle75 It is canon, and is not a fanfic. Just because Tomino had next to nothing to do with it does not make it official. Bandai/Sunrise control the rights to Gundam. While I agree that it was so good it had to be made, I disagree that it is otherwise on the level of wannabe Gundam writers. By that logic 0080, 0083, 08TH MS Team and various other AU Gundams are fanfic.

@XSeed8 yea know.. I uploaded a video on Unicorn's first take-off. And it got removed the 3rd day. but think they didnt removie this because its only 26 seconds.
