  • i have a fear of germs and i really need help..

  • Hello. I am a mental health professional and your video is very good. Have you thought about becoming a mental health professional?

  • @lorienocean Hi, thank you for the wonderful compliment. I'm so glad you liked my video.

  • If you could, could u please make a video about Puro O? Its ocd as well, but doesnt evolve around compulsions.

  • i remember i always was HORRIBLELY DISGUSTED by the fact dogs eat their own crap

it makes me feel like i dont love my dogs as much

i love they to pieces, but it just makes me so sick i would hate it if they licked me

i know some people say poo is natural but i just think its so gross

  • My OCD is literally crippling…I have had it since I was 19 (that's the earliest time that I can remember)…I am 41 now…It rules my life and I am miserable

  • I have this weird thing where I hate reflections. For some reason everytime I a reflective surface it makes me freak out. like when I try to watch TV but it's reflecting then I can't focus on anything other than the reflection and I my anxiety builds up. IT's really terrible because almost everything reflects so I'm afraid to use my phone, watch TV, or anything like this. In fact there is a reflection on my computer screen that is really bugging me as I type this.

  • bad thoughs i can relate to this

  • I have OCD but my obsession is chapstick. I need it. I freak out if it's not with me! I really wish I didn't have to carry it all around with me but I can't help it. It's such an inconvienence. My brothers make fun of me and my mom and dad just make it worse. I'm trying to help myself but I just keep getting worse. Hopefully some videos will help me a little

  • Hi, I always play with my fingers. I have a very strong urge to even everything out. For example: If I scratch one side of my nose, I have to scratch the other. And I have been washing my hands an awful lot when I go in the pool, or even at school I have an urge to wash them. It started out when my parents fought a lot a two years ago. They are getting divorced very soon. I have already started to cut down washing my hands every time I touch something. But how can I stop playing with my fingers?

  • Hi, practice the same technique as you do to cut down on washing your hands; try to do it less and less. Perhaps you can keep a pen nearby and doodle on a piece of paper to help break the habit initially.

  • @YouTips4U Thank you so much, I'll try that :)

  • I recommend to anyone who suffers with mind identified issues to meditate and bring their thought back into the body where there true being is. Try reading the power of now from Eckhart Tolle. It may help

  • my experience being an ocd girl is so tough and freaking me out!..i tried not to think about my anxiety and frustration when washing up my hands and feet but i do it repetitively for 5 or more times...i always doing it when waking up or going to bed..and smtimes i feel ashame when i was going out with my friends but i dnt like them to see my habit..haiih and smtimes when i turned on my phone, (i think of smthing bad to happen) so i will turn it off and on again and again..

  • @jasmin08ish You are not your mind, so try being the watcher and watch your thoughts as they come out. Be alert and watch and as you do they will dissipate. They will lose their power. Being aware is the key.

  • I have harm ocd, it is really distressful. I try to talk to my family about it and they say I only want attention or its just a phase, that nothing is wrong with me. I mean it really hurts when the people I feel I can talk to can't be there. Then I have another one where i think that i might turn gay, or get sick of my girlfriend, but i know for a fact that i love her and that i am not gay. I constantly have battled thoughts like these on a daily basis for about a year. I want to be normal.

  • Hi, I understand how frustrating and upsetting OCD can be. Many times it can take a while for family members to truly understand what OCD is about and very often it can be mistaken for trying to get negative attention or it is downplayed to try to help you defocus on it. The fears that you are describing are very common among OCD sufferers. You're doing a great job reminding yourself that you know this is OCD. Don't be afraid to seek help if you think you need it.

  • Hi, I know how hard this can be and it can definitely snowball on you and encompass many areas of your life. Don't lose hope though because treatment is available. If you are not ready to speak to a professional, try to make one small change on your own. Pick one thing that gives you anxiety and just like I said in the video, try to force yourself slowly to become accustomed to it. It may take time, but gaining control over one thing may be all you need to get you on the path to recovery.

  • i have this ocd with reading. i feel like i can't comprehend something when i read silently and only reading out loud will help. i've tried mouthing the words and reading slower, but it just drives me crazy. it's seriously ruining my life ):

  • i always fear to drop thing when i pay when at shop and fear to lost thing when i move whit them and i always look if i dont forget anything obsesively is there a way to cure it for good and how can i know if im cured and good video

  • Hi, it's fine to double check if you have everything you need etc. you just don't want to do it obsessively. So allow yourself one check and then you know it all fine and you can then try to move forward.

  • Hi, I saw all the videos of yours on OCD and I really appreciate that you shared your knowledge here. This video is very useful and I admire the way in which you present the information. I mean that you can speak in such an interesting way, you can give really good examples, and all the information is really understandable. By the way, I think you would be a great lecturer at universities or anywhere.

  • Hi, thank you for your very kind compliment. I'm so glad you liked my videos :o)

  • I have a type of ocd where i always worry about something... not matter what, i just think about this one thing and the thing is diffrent everyweek and ican't really enjoy myself or have a good time without worrying and this causes a bit of stress. I am also very strict on organizing. Though this does come in handy in some ways, but it get pretty annoying but i have the best parents and friends that i can talk too which makes things so much better:)

  • Thanks a lot for your videos! Theyre helpful

  • Babe

  • I haven't heard the rest of the videos like this one, but from what I've heard so far, this lady knows what she's talking about. There's people out there who think they know what OCD is, but they don't know how bad it can get.

  • But i think i have ocd 2 bcuz

I have fear of public bathrooms & garbages

Food poisoning as well i sometimes dont eat at all bcuz i have a fear ill get sick

So iv lost alot of weight dont like elevators & escalators

    Mnay more....

  • thanks for posting this vid. i've been scared of germs since i was in 7th grade but i was diagnosed with ocd now..im 17....people think i can just stop my handing washing and stop being afraid but i cant its hard. i have a therapist and she says the reason i developed ocd was to try to distract me from my major depressive disorder and ptsd. i wash my hands like crazy and am afraid in my own house. lol...i will also have someone to expose me to germs or something while working thru my ptsd. :)

  • I have told my youth pastor recently about my anxiety in a letter to him about something else and he said if I still have it he would like to get me someone to talk to.

  • Hi, I'm glad you are speaking to someone about your anxieties. Do some reading on this subject as well, it will help you understand what you are experiencing and just how common it is. OCD can definitely run in families, so if your mom has it, it is very possible that you may suffer from it as well. Even though you both have different obsessions, you share the same illness. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi! My mom has ocd about the germ thing and takes pills. I think that I have genetically inherited it b/c I have it about death. I often think up and have this fantasy life in my head w/ someone in it who understands me and can give me comfort and relief when no one does around me. I am picked on and an outcast in everyday life and have had a papa have a massive heart attack and one die of 3 types of cancer in a dragged out death. All of this makes it hard to live w/.

  • Wow that's was a great explanation.. but i still cannot differentiate OCD with OCPD. I am very cautious to my belongings. i take care of my stuff very extremely especially my electronic gadget.. if there smal/tiny scratch on my mobile phone, i would be very cautious and cannot stop thinking about it.. my mind would tell me to get a new gadget or replace the housing although i know it's very unnecessary.. So do i have an OCD or OCPD? any self-help remedy that u suggest? thanks

  • Hi, OCD and OCPD do share some symptoms. I really didn't go into OCPD in my videos. I was focusing on OCD. I did learn that one of the main differences between OCD and OCPD is people with OCD are often aware that their obsessions are abnormal, but are compelled to perform them anyway. People with OCPD, however, believe their need for strict order and very rigid rules in their lives is perfectly normal.

  • @YouTips4U Great! thanks for your reply. Really appreciate it.

  • I think I may have some form of OCD as I get ideas or thoughts in my head and then I can't get them out again- things that I have to do. For example I could be taking a tissue out of the box but after I have I realize it didn't come out straight or I didn't hold the box or something like that and I think that I should have done so I'll try to put the tissue back in and do it over or I'll throw the tissue away and do it with a new one and then I'll think of something else and it goes on and on.

  • Hi, thanks so much for sharing. I think you may be right, especially if this is causing you anxiety and interfering with your daily activities. If you want to know for sure, you can speak to someone who is a trained therapist in this area. You can get more information as I mentioned in the video from books and websites. I hope you will look into this more.

  • @YouTips4U Thank you so much for all your help and info it is very useful!! It does interfere with things as it takes so much longer to do stuff and I get very frustrated about it. I don't have any of the cleanliness symptoms tho or anything like that so I am not sure but I will definitely look into it more thanks again!

  • i have terrible ocd but i do not perform rituals. i haven't been able to get help

  • Hi, I really recommend reading about this disorder. I read quite a few books and they were quite informative and motivating. I know how hard this can be. I've watched people struggle with it and it can be so frustrating for the person. I do think the more you read and learn about the disorder, the more you realize you have control, then it's a matter of really working to put yourself into action against it. I hope you will continue to try. Thanks for sharing :o)

  • VERY good video! I don't think you could have explained it any better. :)

  • I've been suffering from OCD all my life, since I was a small child. Paxil has helped me a lot.

  • Hi, thanks so much for sharing :o)

  • She speaks the truth, I suffer from OCD and my family suffers with me. I wish there was a cure, but there isn't. I take a generic form of Zoloft and it helps a bit , but some days are worse than others.

  • Hi, thanks for sharing. Have you tried Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with exposure and ritual prevention? It may help :o)

  • ok not trying to be rude but you can NOT treat, cure or prevent ocd and i have had ocd for 10 years

  • @2liz23

I dont know ANYTHING about OCD but i'm sure there is a way to help isn't there? LIke make it a tad better if it is not a bad case.

  • I've dealt with ocd since i was 15, And unfortunately not everybody is understanding of what is going on. Most of the time people look at you like wtf is wrong with you?

  • @lissahxox

You don't have to watch, or be rude, and some people do, So keep your opinion to ur self

  • @whalelover1231 i was comenting on someone elses post.... :/ obviously i care about ocd...

  • @lissahxox .....then kindly remove your offensive comment, it certainly looks out of place here.

  • This is very very helpful, thank you so much.

  • Thanks so much for your terrific feedback!

  • Firstttt :D
