  • I will pray for you, obviously you are disturbed about the truth, Come home to the Church and dont hate or disbelieve it, it is your home dont abandon it! God Loves you!

  • wow have fun in hell the way ur acting right now ;-)

  • @E4real44 bollox

  • Why dont you believe in Communism to help you recover - I'm confused you dont become a full member of the Catholic faith until you (willing) undergo confirmation anyway - so whats your point? or are you just a liar who was never a Catholic in the first place - From a recovering atheist

  • This is the problem with America today, so called parents letting children raise themselves. Children need to be taught right from wrong and need to learn that there are consequences for actions and decisions. Letting children "make up their own minds" as the author of this video states is purely detrimental to the child and eventually to society as a whole.

There is currently a HUGE surge of people returning to the Catholic church.

The "lost" look in the eyes of this momo person says it all.

  • Good on ya Momo. Keep thinking for 'yourself' instead of letting others do your thinking for you!

The only issue I have with religion, is that they tell others how to conduct themselves from day to day. I find that ideology reeks of control mechanisms and being the type of person who doesn't like it when people tell him what to do, I steer clear of anything revolving around those lines. I am perfectly capable of conducting 'myself' day to day thank you very much.

    Namaste.

  • I agree, but I think some might call that oppositional defiance.lol

  • There is a God and its been proven by fullfulled prophecies in the bible. The problem is that as a Catholic, you unwittingly worship the Beast Power of Rome and probably dont even read it.

Go youtube search Walter Veith and watch his lectures. He used to be a Catholic himself and will tell you the truth.

  • @cashmny78 Show me this proof you claim exists, and define God for me so I know what kind of "God" you're talking about since everyone's idea of "God" is different.

  • 6? kids usually dont start thinking forthemselves till after age 7. neurological fact. if parent says "thats dangerous" it is usually a good idea for the child to blindly obey...usually

  • God is everything, he is all.. he encompasses all. So in reality the perfect all can see everything.

  • who's care that?

  • Well, this really isn't anymore an answer than when someone says "Because" in response to the question "WHY". Most of our problems begin in our psyche/spirit and if we don't teach our kids to deal with them skillfully, they will repeat the same stupid mistakes we make. Don't you want more for your kids? I do.

  • Until you forgive, they still own a piece of your soul. That might be the best way to become free. Believe me, I have walked through the same issues.

On another note: do you let your children make up their own minds about school and medical care? Why is this different?

  • ...

Different because the reprocutions of lacking such things as medical attention and education are different.imo

  • Different because school and medical care are proven to exist maybe too(sometimes they exist at least)?

Now, allowing your child to carry on believing in Santa even as they get older...that can have some serious problems. Or at least it can be problematic if they were encouraged to state that belief as fact.

I'm not saying there is no God/Gods/higher power etc, I'm just saying I don't believe in religion/old books/myths.

  • The problem with calling yourself a "recovering Catholic" is that you more or less acknowledge that the sons of bitches are still dwelling in your mind, rent free. They need to be evicted post haste.

I refused to call myself a "Catholic" as deliniated by ANY adjective. I left. It's over. And life couldn't be better!

  • this is funny... stupid.. catholics.. :)

    hehehe

  • Surely you would concede the right of parents to raise their children as they see fit? Am I right to assume you respect that your parents were trying to educate you about their beliefs?

  • In all seriousness I do respect parents teaching their children about their beliefs. When it comes to spirituality I believe children could be taught what their parents believe, about other beliefs in the world, and about respecting peoples choices, so that they can eventually make their own decisions on what is right for them without being opressive to others who choose differently.

  • You weren't 'brainwashed', and you were allowed to stop going to Mass when you wanted, now you decide not to beleive. What are you complaining about? Get over it, grow up. PS. I love being Catholic, God bless the Catholic Church and Pope Benedict XVI.

  • Ah it's nice to see someone respond the same as an overly serious, assumption making, shove it down your throat, fanatical, catholic would. Just like old times. "get over it" I will never get over the right to have my own voice. You think your the only one who should have that right unless someone is agreeing with you?, got to luv those double standards. "Grow up" why so I can be a humorless automaton like you ...NEVER! PS. Turn the other cheek Pope Lover.

  • What kind of parenting would that be?!?

  • Heaven forbid.:)

  • Consider this awesome'd. Dare one dream of one day yelping with similar glee during an "I'm A Recovering ..." series, with folks around our globe united together in giving their heads a shake & dummying up?

    Sigh.

  • "Dummying up"?!?

Like people are going to ever have enough of a mental spine to lose "we are the chosen ones, kill the infidel scum" in favor of "wow, I was full of it about a whole BUNCH of stuff" ... yuh HUH.

Whoa - who was I kidding here?

  • :).

  • I'm a recovering Pentecostal. *cry* I can't decide if that's better or worse. :oP

Meh... I'd like to think I came out alright in the end, though. *twitch*

  • LMAO *twitches back*

  • Awesome I know exactly where you are coming fom, except I was 8 when I figured out that God, the easter bunny, and Santa where all just as equally real.

    5/5 and favorited

  • why would you not send me this video?! really enjoyed the message here. you know i think you and me should respond to the blasphemy challenge. i hear you get a free dvd for doing so.

  • awesome and too true. =)

  • I am also a recovering Catholic, and I have the certificates to prove it.

  • lol.

  • well now that's just ridiculous, if you don't believe in Jesus you can't technically be human.

  • lol, I never said I was. :)

  • Brava!

  • So are you not religious, or are you just not a Catholic?

  • It depends on how you define religious, I guess. I'm not a nihilist. I believe in helping thy fellow brothers and sisters and trying to be a decent human being. Yet I worship or pray to no god. :)

  • Yep, I meant in the sense of being agnostic or atheist.

  • I suppose there really isn't a catagory I fit into. I don't deny anything is possible, but I don't bother wondering about it either.

  • That's what I would call a nontheist, which is kinda what I am. I don't believe in anything, but I also don't really care about it either...

  • A Nontheist it is then. :)

  • When choosing between belief in religion/eternal life, and belief in death, well... One of these is more comforting then the other. Personally, I choose 'not' to drink the kool-aid.

  • I may not respect certain ideologies, but I respect your choice not to drink the kool-aid. :)

  • funny PSA announcement

lol. you are a doll and funny. you'd be a natural cartoon character or kid's show. (no offense intended)

I'm not sure exactly why, but you make me think of Daria's artist friend. I forget the character's name.

  • No offense taken. :)

  • You have my most heartfelt deepest sympathies. Children make up their own minds, God forbid lol :)

  • Religion is the opposite of spirituality. Once you realise that Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the same God (the God of Abraham)you begin to realise what a crock organised religion is. The Catholic faith is the easiest target of the lot of them.
