1 reason Jesus came to Earth is to set captives free. Jesus was in classical conditioning (stimulus pairing) of God in Garden of Eden while slaughtering an animal God said, "seed of the woman will bruise the serpent."
Want more detail on God from the Garden of Eden in Genesis 5 "Adam (Man) Seth (appointed) Enosh (fatal injury), Cainan (the promised one). Mahalalel (Praise God), Jared (he shall descend) Enoch (teaching) Methuselah (his death shall bring) Lamech (the despairing) Noah (comfort)."
Jesus came to this world to commit a charade. God arranged to pay a debt from his own fund (his son),the torture of a innocent satisfied the sin-debt but is fraudulent b/c Jesus did not really died 3 days later he was walking around. Now christian have eternal life b/c they beleive that. God created the problem and sell you the solution. Thank;s
@8Anya8 Anya, you make me sad. The name of God is blasphemed through you because of your wickedness and contention before the world against a Christian. I will have no more dealings with you. I have turned you over. Your rantings against the Lord Jesus and his word will not again be answered by this servant in love, but rather by the Master himself in fury. Your blood shall never be on my hands. I have warned you. My hands are clean.
Friend, did you know that Easter is a pagan festival, celebrating the gods of fertility (which are no gods), and that it has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, or his resurrection? Search the scriptures, and you will see that Jesus was crucified on the 4th day of the week (weds.), not friday. And, he was risen early the first day of the week. Easter has always been a pagan rite. That's why Herod kept it (Acts 12:4).
@wordprophet You're asking if Jesus give a calendar date? No. But he did eat the Passover with His disciples where he proclaimed the new covenant. Out of that we obviously have the ordinance of communion. But early Christians also celebrated the Passover annually. I agree that painted eggs and bunnies have nothing to do with the death of Christ. But how is it wrong to pick a day to remember the death of Christ annually? To your own point Christ never gave a specific date.
@urbansamurai79 Not trying to be offensive, but I would think that Christians in this world have bigger issues to combat than keeping proper dates and the naming of holidays. Do you celebrate birthdays? Did you know that is rooted in paganism? All that aside my only point is if people are devoting a day every year to specifically observe the death of Christ in honor and thanks... I'd say that's a cause for rejoicing. Just my opinion.
@urbansamurai79 Yes, I do know that birthday celebrations are rooted in paganism. Christians have nothing to do with these traditions. We are a holy people unto the Lord, not conformed unto this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds. Begotten again unto a living hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...
@urbansamurai79 The scripture says that the disciples (of which I am) had the tradition of coming together on the first day of the week to break bread (the keeping of the communion of Christ). There is no place in scripture that says the disciples kept the passover annually, nor that we should. Rather, the scripture speaks against such. (See Galatians 4:9-11)
@wordprophet Doesn't Paul say in 1 Corinth 5:7 For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us celebrate the feast...
Again, I'm still waiting for your answer on how devoting a day every year to specifically observe the death of Christ in honor and thanks is rooted in paganism.
@urbansamurai79 Please understand that when Paul said "Therefore let us keep the feast", he was not talking about any certian day, as under the Mosaic law. If you will read the passage you should see what he was talking about...
As for your second question, I have given you the answer...
1) The Bible does not say to do it, and
2) The Bible says not to do it. As a Christian, that's all I need.
If that's your basis for not observing Christ's death on a particular day, have at it. I'm not trying to convince you. But the Bible doesn't say anything about brushing your teeth either. Paul also talks about food sacrificed to idols in 1 Cor 9. He says that we're neither better or worse for eating. It boils down to conscience. If you're convicted by it, don't do it. Again, there's just MUCH bigger issues than this.
@urbansamurai79 If so, then I offer my apology for misunderstanding. Have you obeyed the gospel of Christ? Have you received the Holy Ghost? Unto what were you baptized?
@urbansamurai79 When you receive the Holy Ghost (Jesus Christ in you), you will speak with other tonges and prophesy. Has that sign been manifested in your life? Also, the Bible doesn't say to be baptized into repentance, but rather to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Being baptized in his name (in water) is how one becomes saved. It is how we receive remission of sins, and come to be in Christ, according to the Bible.
@urbansamurai79 Praise the Lord! To prophesy simply means to speak words that God puts in your mouth. Acts 2:11, "...we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God." Many times I have heard saints say that when other saints were speaking in tongues, they understood them to be praising God by speaking the scripture to glorify him. My wife understands me when I speak in tongues. I am usually speaking the scripture and magnifying him...
@wordprophet Please feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions about the doctrine of Christ. I do not regard the traditions of men, but only what the scripture teaches, and it may be I can help you, by God's grace. I am here for you.

Clinton from out of your own mouth proceeds the judgement that you yourself will know.
You speak continually against your brother/sister and slander your own mother's son.
These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face.
Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue:

wordprophet is once again in grave error.Yah'shua was not put on the cross on a wed,no he was nailed to it on a thrusday/ day 5.
Those who claim to be prophets are no prophet.
