I was a freshman in HS in '88 when you played at a venue in Cincinatti Ohio near Kings Island. It was my first drum corps experience and led later to playing sops with the Bluecoats in 1992. I play your '88finals cassette in my SUV 4-5 times a day where ever I go. I enjoyed Madison Scouts in '92, City of Angels. It was my number 2 fav show from Madison Scouts. Your 1988 show is what I base my comparison with ANY drum corps show I watch or listen to. YOU ALL ARE AWESOME.
having aged out of the scouts the year prior to that one, I LOVE seeing as many recordings as I can find. I always wanted to play Maleguena with the scouts and I finally got to as part of the MSARP. I beam with pride each time I see old time scouts. I am proud of our new little brothers as well, but u just can't beat the scouts of yesteryear. MYNWA
I'm in this video somewhere playing soprano bugle. The images really jar my memories! Afterwards we played national anthems with the corps at the show while sitting in the stands at the left side. You can see the stands near the end of the video. I loved the European venues. You could tell they had never heard anything as loud and intense as us and Malaguena virtually drags them to their feet. It was like that every performance. We knew we were hot sh*t that year!
Take a good long look at this once great corps. Thanks to DCIs absurd system of judging and Scott Stewart's departure, today's corps is a shell of the Madison we all grew to love. What a shame.
Best mello solo ever.

If you don't rate this video five stars, I will literally hunt you down and bludgeon you with a Hickory Farms Beefstick.
Do the right thing.

It's been 21 years and the Wedge in Malaguena still gives me goose bumps. What a fantastic show! I'm proud to have marched it.

those contras are really something- this recording seems to capture the low brass end even better than the actual finals recording...
