  • I see some Boss photos of American graffiti on Ebay that Look Great..........

  • Love the Good old days takes you back. see photos on Ebay... American graffiti photos

  • So many careers were made from this movie. And Suzanne Sommers was driving the T Bird. Great movie. The second one sucked.

  • I have a few hot rods.. now...1931 1951---1964 and 1966 love the whole scene...but they mean nothing unless you experience the era...I was in high school early 70's first car was a 1969 442 olds with a standard shift and a 400 engine...I remember when this movie came out I was in 10th grade......not that removed from the 1962 setting.....wow....was just a great era....and unbeleivable times!! we were truely blessed...now that I am a geezer.....I still love it!!

  • Tbh, there's no reason for modern cars to not look like this in my opinion.

  • the opening shot of this movie is ingrained in my BRAIN

  • Field car whats that?

  • i was nine years old in 1962 and i can still recall and lot of what was going on at the time i was not out in california but in the midwest for quite some time it was kinda of like this but it is all long gone now nothing really left of those times at all a real pity i can still recall how it was man i want to go back to those times once more i hate how it is today it sucks man!

  • great movie, always will be,mega cool now and in its day as well, the cars just to die for, cant say that for the shitboxes they build nowa days, YUK,at the Hop, were all teenager,s need to go for a good time and real fun, before the big brainwashing corperate,s and brainwashing new age sensative leaders tell them/kids that Mobile phones, and brand names are the only way to be cool in this day and age??? fuck that, give me a chick in pony tails and a beater to cruise in anyday and my LEVIS. R.I.P

  • where were you in `62?

  • i was born in 1993. but i love the 1950;s and 1960s i wish i was a teenager during those times

  • @hockeygirl1031 So do I. A better time, a much more fun time.

  • yup!!!

i love everything about the 50's!!

    music

    cars

    movies

    tv shows

    the clothes!

i go bak to like the 30's for movies to, but mostly the 50's to todays time

  • @hockeygirl1031 Your a very smart young lady!!

  • yupp same here

  • @hockeygirl1031 I was born in 69' and I wished I was a kid in the 50's!!

  • @hockeygirl1031 me too

  • @hockeygirl1031 i agree i was born same year nd when my dad introduced me to this movie i fell in love with 50s 60s era its timeless the music nd the cars its all great

i love his car too =]

  • Those were the HAPPY DAYS

  • these cars are incredable! now look what we drive today.

  • @tohotxox are cars today are plastic there cars are hard steel.

  • @tohotxox Ha,..ha..wow,..that is EXACTLY what I was thinking all day today after seeing this movie!!! There is NO style and personality anymore with cars!! Everything is a dam CLONE!!

  • @tohotxox Dont know about you but I role in a yellow 32 with a Man a fre Intake on the weekends. Clone car from the Movie. lol but i do drive a old 98 chevy truck everyday to work lol.

  • @tohotxox Yeah, modern cars are much safer, and I hate to admit it but they are much more reliable but they just ain't cool like these beauties were.

  • @freethoughtmusic You might get some argument about the new cars being more reliable, or more safe. The thickness of steel on the body of a car was roughly twice as thick then as the shell of todays vehicles. And back then it was much MUCH easier to figure out what was wrong with your car and fix it yourself.

  • @emjee Hi. I agree with you about how you could fix them back then. Modern cars suck in comparison that way, they do not break down as often, but when they do it's misery. Although the metal was thicker on old cars as you say, modern cars have a higher chance of occupant survival in collisions. many of those old cars had single-circuit drum brakes, non-collapsible steering wheels, air bags were unheard of, head restraints seldom if ever seen but man they were cool like todays' cars ain't.

  • @tohotxox All the modern cars look like jelly beans.

  • An awesome movie! My brother and I would watch this movie over and over as little kids. Hard to find a movie this good now adays :-(

  • George Lucas is a fuckin genius!!! AMAZING!"!

  • GREAT MOVIE.... I love it :) Great times

  • I wish I lived in the 50s and 60s :(

  • American Graffiti captured a grt time ...now we have American Idol "anit that a shame"

  • in 63' you could get model A's & 32's all day for free or like $50 junk yards were packed full of donor cars & no dmv redtape also if you got a ticket you just pay the fine none of this point crap

  • You just can't stay seventeen forever. WANNA BET?!?!

  • Greatest example of Hot Rod culture ever captured on film.

  • I watched this movie today it's a great one!!! Classic

  • My Grandma went to high school with George Lucas. He grew up in Modest,CA. So did my grandma. They both went to Downey High. My Grandm still lives in Modesto.

  • well, also keep in mind, .25 a gallon when people were makin about 1.00/hr is not as cheap as it sounds, but yes, cheaper than today.

  • To cruise back then with our gas prices it would be like 120.00 night

  • Yeah there is a big difference between twenty-five cent a gallon gas and 4 bucks a gallon.

  • Don't complain, over here it's about £5 a gallon, that's about 9 of your U.S dollars!

  • ah, those were the days. Im not that old, but i remember growing up we used to go to the drive-in movies, or the nearest drive in food place where the girls wore roller skates and you had to put your car radio to the oldies. This soundtrack is great!

  • kill yourself, colomarc

  • Good Job MusicManMike, correct answer.

  • Great times. I remember them well. Thanks for sharing the vid.

  • I first 'found' this movie in 1982 at age 11. I watched it over and over again. It's why I have three classic cars (57 Nomad, 58 Impala Conv. and 59 Impala hardtop) and love 50's music. Awesome, Awesome movie. Nothing else like it.

  • Yep, this is the best movie! I too loved all the music and cars.

  • At the end of the movie what was the name of the Airlines??

  • Magic Carpet Airlines was painted on the Douglas DC-7 as it lifted it off taking Curt to college. A reference to the Steppenwolf song "Magic Carpet Ride" from September 1968 released on the album Steppenwolf the Second, written by John Kay and Rushton Moreve.

  • Magic Carpet airlines

  • One of the best movies. I wish i had a one of these cars

  • This is the best movie ever. This movie has the best songs ever.I love riding around in my Hot Rod listening to thses songs

  • C´mon Georgie baby !!! If yer readin´ this, drop the CGI crud and let´s start makin´ some real all-American flicks again Lucas!!"

  • Great Freakin Movie!!

  • George Lucas knocked it outta the park with this one !! C´mon Georgie Lucas baby, drop the CGI crap and get back to making some real all American flicks!!!!

  • and ironicly this very clip features some pathetic Lucas CGI. This is the remastered intro with the buildings behind Mel's airbrushed out and replaced with some sort of majestic sunset. Couldn't he leave well enough alone?

True enough, though, that this is still a fantastic movie.
