  • Loved how Luke refers to Diego Garcia and the silence it was greeted with by Jim and Bernard, referring to complicity from the Civil Service and the UK Govt perhaps, very nicely written indeed.

  • Every moment I want to start hating them, something about how they deliver their lines suggest that at some tiny core they'd die denying, they really do see themselves as performing noble jobs.

Inspiring. Sort of the same way Whiskey is.

  • this is so cynical

  • Sweden feels like this episode at the moment.

  • As true today as it was then, only St Georges is now Libya, and we are just about to enter stage 4! You can read politicians like a book! (fiction, obviously)

  • Really!? Educated maaaannnn... for an American.

    Fan-bloody tastic!

  • 'Bernard, you should stand for parliament' - lol! I love Sir Humphrey's backhanded compliments

  • Poor Bernard always seemed caught in the middle.

  • How much the world has changed in a couple of decades.Wow.Looks a bit weird thinking of UK discussing foreign affairs as such today. No USSR, unipolar world, new emergent powers.

  • @insas223 but still the same stupid issues

  • Yes.......No!?!?

  • Why is Hacker acting so clueless in this episode? Especially between 1:20 and 2:20.

  • 5:11

    1) Burkina Faso

    2) N'Djamena

    3) French

    4) Alan Garcia Perez

    5) Christian

  • Wow, the thing about partition is so true... I am an Indian :(

  • Brilliant!

  • And US and UK are doing what? Right! They are trying to conquer Afghanistan. The foreign secretary and the civil service in the 80s were not that stupid after all.

  • Ironically, Russia never invaded Pakistan, but Israel has been receiving full & unconditional support for such a long a time that the world’s economy is now lying in ruins and even the snotty lice like putin are feeling strong enough to be able to send killers murdering people with Polonium right in the centre of London. Putin is doing this with full and complete impunity.

  • brilliant writing

  • This is amazing. So cynical and so accurate.

  • "He seemed worried that it might be subject to a communist takeover"

    "Americans always are"

  • I'm worried about the fact, that only 17704 of the Ytb members has seen that. What about the rest of them? Don't know english? Don't have interests in such a things? Don't get what's going on? Don't understand a word?

  • @tomenicus they're too busy watching Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber

  • "Who knows foreign office secrets, apart from the foreign office?"

"Oh that's easy, only the Kremlin!"

  • bindy - exactly what I was thinking

  • Isn't it sad that only 6,835 people have seen this. It should be shown in school!

    Cracking comedy.

  • This is some of the best writing ever.., amazingly intellignet and humourous, and so well acted

  • I love the dynamic of Richard and Humphrey, they're hilarious together.

  • Luke is brilliant!

  • @qinmoy U wonder how he is enjoying his time as the British Ambassador in Tel Aviv!!!!!LOL.

    His reaction was priceless!!!!LOL

  • Part 3 coming soon?

  • its up already... in fact, the whole of both series' are almost up already...

  • And thanks for that! I'm really enjoying this show, the best political satire of all times.

  • @EnlightenedMonk did they remove episode one of series one?
