Great version. Still not his/their best version of this song, as it's not meaty and balzy on the bass end or as rolling as it use to be, but what the hell it's true and cool.
why is everyone bashing blink? there a great band, so are the only ones, blink influences alot. they did this song good, different, but good. why cant everyone just enjoy what they listen to and not argue?
@plimptonrocksmysocks Yea, I don't understand why we're talking about Blink under this video either. But, no, Blink is not good and they did a shit cover of The Only Ones.
I get tired of rock politics as well, but understand that pop music isn't about making good music. It's about selling records and Blink sells records. Paul and The Only Ones don't. Why? Because they don't put the effor towards selling records. They put effort towards playing their instruments and writing songs.

Anyway, back to my point, Blink-182 is scientifically among the best music out there. (If youre curious, some of the notables. Tops was Classical at an average of 3, followed by Blink-182 at 3.3, 1950s-60s Rock and Roll at 3.9. 80s punk (represented by NOFX) placed 7th score of 5.8.) Therefore, argue all you want, tell me I'm wrong, I mean all I'm using are facts, and scientific research, those are never right.. They've only showed us cancer, the wonders of space and oh other magnificient things
I'm not sure I'd slot cancer under the "magnificient (sic[k]) things" heading. The Only Ones, the 'Mats, and Westerberg? Sure, yeah. Yes, of course, absolutely. Opinion? At least we have empirical proof of Blink's superiority and, most likely, information on what color cars are faster, whether lucky charms are indeed magically delicious, and who, in fact, deserves the title World's Greatest Grandpa.
...there was some variation, because as you learn through studies, every person is an individual and therefore will react differently to any given set of circumstances, but the blink-182 song was in the top 5 in all 3. (If you're curious, it was #1, #4, and #5, one preferred modern hip hop, and another was particularly fond of the classical). ..
...for my final in nuerology I took test subjects (3 in fact) and over a two week span, tested their brains aural response to music while they were sleeping. Also, as a control, I had them listen to the songs the day after they had listened to them while sleeping. None of them had shown any particular attachment to any music before hand (hence why they were chosen) and did not react overly excted on upon hearing any of the songs. Well, being me, I had to incorporate some blink-182. Well...
Ok, here is my point. I'm not questioning the importance to Paul WEsterberg and/or the Replacements influence in the world of music. And to the point that I have since been pwned, GGo make your argument on a Blink -182 video, and see how many people question you. Better yet, I challenge you to find a middle of the road Blink-182 video with 17,000 views. Now, so im not simply an ignoramus arguing blindly, I'll introduce actual scientific fact to my argument...

alright to start, i ahve a great respect for The Replacements, they are good but aren't the legacy blink is. Now to your list, Show me a link where any band specifically says that Paul Westerberg is their influence, because I could show you half a dozen that word for word cite Blink as an influence. Now, "lame crappy pop punk band" may be how you feel, but... that proves my point. Blink created a genre, how many other bands can claim that, The Ramones-yes, The Clash-sort of, The Replacements-no
Oh, and I didn't realize 'non-conformity' meant listening to MTV ready pop punk with such deep lyrics. Those tools couldn't hold Paul Westerbergs jock strap.
To begin, when I talk about Blink i am not referring to All The Small Things, Im talking about all the true blink not the MTV versions. and to your"non-conformist" remark I dont conform to the previously conceived non-conformist notion to which has now reached conformity, and yes that makes sense, now to their relevance. I'll start with this: Name 5 bands that are alive today that claim Paul Westerberg as an influence because I could easily do that with Blink.
Not that I really want to get into this argument, but I'll name a modern band that westerberg influenced: Blink 182.
If not for the Replacements, Blink never would have heard of this song.
Also, Green Day, whose Billy Joe openly admires Westerberg.
I'm not knocking blink- some of their stuff around Dude Ranch was all right, but Meo, it's obvious that you are just looking for a reaction and saying what you know will get a rise out of people. On the other hand, if you are serious, well, then....
Dude, ok I love blink 182, they are my favorite band of all time, but I got to say, you really got pwned in this arguement, lol, i hate to admit it but you did lol!
good ... rare, but kinda all treble. they certainty are enthusiastic and true to the original. thanks. the original by Australia's The Only Ones is still the best version
Stupidity of Youth, why because im a nonconformist, because i dont feel that just becaus eblink-182 was around at the dawn of punk, that they arent good. Well hear this, Blink has done more for Punk than The Only Ones, thean Paul Westerberg, than almost anyone, theyve done more than any band post 1990
and their status on the punk importance chart is rivaled only by The Clash, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols. Call me dumb, call me young, give me thumbs down, but that doesnt make you any more right. And you know what... BLINK IS BACK BITCHES!!!
I'm now laughing at you harder then ever. Explain how Blink is important in Punk history. Seriously. Other then stealing from the Dickies and being a watered down Green Day (who sold out themselves, but redeemed themselves a little with American Idiot) explain their relevance.
More punk than Ramones, Clash and Pistols? Hahaha. You're so funny. If it's something Blink are not it's punk. More like chewinggum pop. Just another calculated boyband for the kids of the late 90's-early 00's. Just like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and whatever their names are, are the new boybands of today. Go and hide under your stone again.
Pretty damn cheezy band. But I suppose for '93, that amount of unironic "rocking out" movement was normal. Geez. I miss Slim Dunlap moseying through that guitar solo on this song.
effin brilliant!!!!!!!!!!! love the original, but this is how my band will try to play it...
