Truely one of the greatest losses in all racing. And just last year we had to relive losing an amazing person and driver in Dan Wheldon. Fate has a strange way of working it's course. The Las Vegas race that Dan was taken from us was the first race that Rick Moore had attended since his son's life was taken. I hate that we have to be without these drivers and the many others that were taken too soon, but the kingdom of God needed them for a reason I guess.
A very beautiful tribute. His death was the saddest day ever in racing. Every Halloween I remember Greg and what an awesome racing driver he was. Doesn't mater if you met him or not, if you're from U.S.A, Canada, England, Australia or anywhere... he touched people all around the world. His fierce competitive spirt was an icon of CART and without him the sport diminished considerably. I miss you forever mate, you were the best... R.I.P
Great and fitting tribute! I was at the 1998 U.S. 500 and I will never forget it. Greg was a great driver and person. I was very fortunate to have met Greg briefly during a test at Mid-Ohio in 1999, I was only 14, saw Greg in garage, so I asked a crew member if he would be signing anything, and he said buddy just go in there and ask him yourself. Greg was surprised to say the least and asked who let me in the garage, I pointed to the crewguy and Greg just laughed and signed my book. Class Act
Good job - it is hard to believe a decade has passed since Greg left us. One of the sadest days ever for motorsport. He was a great talent that could have changed the outcome of Open Wheel Racing in NA.
RIP Greg, one of the greatest drivers ever to grace the CART ranks. Taken too early but will never be forgotten by drivers or fans. Great tribute video
After Rick Mears retired I was looking for new guys to root for, Greg Moore was one of those guys. From right here in Indianapolis, Greg Moore is missed.
we might feel him sometimes , we must think of him this halloween if you know what i mean he will always be in our hearts and minds. I'm wondering if indy will honour him this weekend on the 10th.
The most exciting open wheeled racing that has ever existed. Champ Car has never seen a better driver in my opinion. We were blessed to have you in our most favored motorsport. You will always be missed
It was very hard to first lose Ayrton Senna as idol on my birthday, and lose the only driver that ever mananged to win me over, a few year later... Racing god's aren't fair by any means...
To be honest, seeing this tribute touches me more than a Senna tribute... but that could just be because I was a little bit older when Greg had his accident..
it will be 10 years on halloween this year we must think of him . also i weird thing happened the night he was killed his ghost visited me i was only 10 i still wonder y that happened.
I grew up an IndyCar fan, only liking NASCAR later on. Even after the split, I preferred IndyCar, both series, to NASCAR, but when I saw Moore's fatal crash, somehow I had the feeling it was all over for IndyCar as a major motor racing series. And it's never been the same since—all downhill. Moore was the best young talent in the sport and when he was gone, there was really nothing left to hang on to. It was the saddest single day I can remember in all my years of watching racing.
I remember watching him from go-karts, through the indy lights series to indy car, i remember watching that race life and bursting into tears as i knew he was gone. I havent watched racing the same way since.
I worked at the Toronto Molson Indy and I have a autograph shirt that Paul Tracy and Greg Moore signed this is a good keep sake being a big Moore fan.
He truly touched everyone on that team and everyone in CART! A little later I noticed a pair of gloves in a display case, "RED GLOVES" they were Greg's, and one of Jerry's most prized possessions! Me and Pat were sharing Memories of him and I told Pat to "Never forget the red gloves"! He didn't, to this day I have never seen Patrick race a car without red gloves on! Sends chills down my spine everytime I see him with red gloves on! bricksterr, thank you from the bottom of my heart! GREAT TRIBUTE
I remember in 2004 after Patrick Carpentier (Greg's Teamate in 99) won at Mid-Ohio I was in the paddock talking to someof the team and Jerry Forsythe walked over and introduced himself and found out I was a HUGE Moore fan! He invited me and my cousin into the tent, feed us, gave us beer! A little while later Pat showed up and we were sitting around talking and Greg came up and everyone went silent! The tears started!
I have to say I'm crying like a baby right now! But I still have a huge smile on my face! What an Awesome driver and an AWESOME PERSON! I got to meet him in Cleveland the year he died and he truly was CANADA'S SON! I do believe he would have been the greatest Canadian driver ever in F1 if only he had made it! I will never forget that day, hearing them say he was gone! I fell to the floor and cried like I am right now! R.I.P. GREG! WE WILL NEVER FORGET! #99! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES! GREAT TRIBUTE
awesome film for an awesome driver. you got it right thanks for the memories greg. watching the race live and so sad ,this video did you justice greg what could have been mate RIP you will never be forgotten thanks for this great tribute
Great Video. Only editorial, you should have the pass, just before Greg Moore passed at his Last Race. There is a still, it was published in Autosport. 2K8 OK Tk
greg moore very easily could have went on to win the fed ex cup and possibly win the indianapolis 500 driving for penske in '00. such a terrible tragedy. RIP greg
Fantastic tribute, very very emotional. I did hold back the tears untill the very end, when his father came into shot and it all became too much for me.
Grreg would have become multi cart champion had he survived. Was this tribute aired on eurosport then? i would love a copy of this great tribute.
Fantastic tribute. Greg's death had a big effect on me, I think especially because he was so young. It's just such a tragedy, as I have no doubt he would've made it to Formula One.
@AJ1964 you're a fucking idiot, Greg Moore was 1000x a better driver then Greg Ray could ever dream of being, and didn't need a crap series with diluted talent and cars that were easy to drive to win races, plus modern IndyCar is only a pale shadow of what CART was
Waw that's some tribute, i really had tears in my eyes with that photo of the press conference and Adrian talking :(. Is it possible to get the original video file? Are you maybe a member at a certain motorsport forum? Send me a message if you can please.
Detroit, I remember that one... And I was not belive it! Me good, he's go fast when 2 in a row (And don't forget the 3 in a row from PT the same years)...
I am a NASCAR FAN AND IRL and CART and F1.But what amazes me most,of all the racing clips that I have watched,The IRL,CART,AND F1 fans seem to be the ones with the most heart and tolerance for other people and their opinions.Great tribute btw.All these racers no matter which series deserve respect.RIP Greg.
Ayrton Senna was a genius in Formula One. Greg Moore was on the same path in CART. What a frickin' waste of talent. Deceased, Moore is still faster & smarter than fellow Canadian Paul Tracy.
ill never forget when i went to the Molson Indy Vancouver and i was in pit lane and i saw Greg in his garage and realized i met the most nicest gentleman person in the world. I remember that October 31 and i remember never falling asleep that night...
What an Incredible Driver he as, so young and talented. He is suerly missed by the racing World in general. Thanks for the great show Greg! We'll see later.
He was my favorite driver. I cant believe its been almost 8 years now. His death crushed me to the point where it soured me on racing. I completely lost interest in champ car racing once Greg died. He was so young, and so good. Had he lived, he would have probably become one of the greatest drivers in history.
Excellent composition. Not a bad rememberence of the equally great Zanardi, as he and Greg battle tooth and nail. I'll never like another Indy-style competitor as much as Greg Moore. From his epic unlapping and subsequent podium finish in his rookie year at Nazareth, to his conquering of the Ganassi juggernaut at the ill-fated but monumental "Hanford Device" debut US500, he was as hard a racer as can ever be. Because he ended his life and career in the same moment, I know he rests in peace.
Just like senna, i still find it hard to take that greg has gone. I loved watching cart back then because he was very gifted and very excitng to watch. I miss that hemel pattern and the number 99. RIP Greg. This video is really good. Well Done.

Waw that's some tribute, i really had tears in my eyes with that photo of the press conference and Adrian talking :(. Is it possible to get the original video file? Are you maybe a member at a certain motorsport forum? Send me a message if you can please.

Well Done.
