  • Truely one of the greatest losses in all racing. And just last year we had to relive losing an amazing person and driver in Dan Wheldon. Fate has a strange way of working it's course. The Las Vegas race that Dan was taken from us was the first race that Rick Moore had attended since his son's life was taken. I hate that we have to be without these drivers and the many others that were taken too soon, but the kingdom of God needed them for a reason I guess.

  • R.I.P. on vas jamais t'oublier...

  • It's nice to see that Greg has been remembered more fondly as time has gone along. He seemed to have been forgotten shortly after his death.

  • i was born april 23, 1998. 1 day after his 23rd birtday...

  • I was only 2 years old when i went and saw him win at the Detroit GP...

  • Arguably tne best racing driver ever, never to run in F1

  • Amazing racer, amazing person. He would have been probably the best F1 racer by now. Such talent. God Bless.

  • 8 PEOPLE ARE JUST PLAIN HEARTLESS

  • Red Gloves Rule

  • cute song

  • A very beautiful tribute. His death was the saddest day ever in racing. Every Halloween I remember Greg and what an awesome racing driver he was. Doesn't mater if you met him or not, if you're from U.S.A, Canada, England, Australia or anywhere... he touched people all around the world. His fierce competitive spirt was an icon of CART and without him the sport diminished considerably. I miss you forever mate, you were the best... R.I.P

  • If Greg didn't die. he would have been lights out better than Paul Tracy.

  • Great and fitting tribute! I was at the 1998 U.S. 500 and I will never forget it. Greg was a great driver and person. I was very fortunate to have met Greg briefly during a test at Mid-Ohio in 1999, I was only 14, saw Greg in garage, so I asked a crew member if he would be signing anything, and he said buddy just go in there and ask him yourself. Greg was surprised to say the least and asked who let me in the garage, I pointed to the crewguy and Greg just laughed and signed my book. Class Act

  • sarebbe diventato campione in f1 peccato che è morto! povrino!

  • British Columbia misses you Greg. RIP.

  • rip greg you were the best

  • I will be uploading a tribute on Thursday

  • greg moore forever the best

  • Thank you to this tribute.

Greeg still alive in our hearts and w'll never forget him.

  • Another great Canadian legend! I was watching live! I still remember!

  • He's one of the best drivers in CART, he could have driven two years with Team Penske and joined Ferrari in Formula One.

  • Number 99 4ever.

  • Good job - it is hard to believe a decade has passed since Greg left us. One of the sadest days ever for motorsport. He was a great talent that could have changed the outcome of Open Wheel Racing in NA.

  • 10 years after his death he is greatly missed rest in peace greg moore.

  • RIP Greg, one of the greatest drivers ever to grace the CART ranks. Taken too early but will never be forgotten by drivers or fans. Great tribute video

  • RIP Greg Moore. Taken too Early. Champion in waiting. Rest in Peace.

  • 10 years ago i've seen this fine yong driver loose his life at Fontana. Greg, you will always be sorely missed.

    #99 forever a champion.

    See you at the front.

  • 10 years since we lost you Greg, but we will NEVER EVER forget the thrills you gave us! RIP #99

  • R.I.P

  • #99 forever!

  • This is what the IRL needs today. A great race car driver like Moore. He made racing fun to watch.

  • Ten years ago today man. It still hurts.

  • That was 10 years ago.... and pain is the same :(

    RIP Greg....

  • After Rick Mears retired I was looking for new guys to root for, Greg Moore was one of those guys. From right here in Indianapolis, Greg Moore is missed.

  • R.I.P....from Russia. We miss you

  • Argentina miss Greg!

  • we might feel him sometimes , we must think of him this halloween if you know what i mean he will always be in our hearts and minds. I'm wondering if indy will honour him this weekend on the 10th.

  • Never heard of him but he seems like a great racer

    Rip Greg Moore

  • I am so sad, not to see him racing any more.

But, very happy, for the moments he gives me.

    Great racing...

    Great memories...

    #99 Greg the greatest!

  • i miss you greg. you were a good driver. one of the best

  • i may have a visitor this Halloween because i saw his spirit that night after he died.

  • whos being interviewed at 6:55, and is there a video for it? I still miss greg 10 years later :(

  • there was, it's the winner of the race where Greg died speaking, but it has been removed from youtube, I guess

    RIP..

  • The most exciting open wheeled racing that has ever existed. Champ Car has never seen a better driver in my opinion. We were blessed to have you in our most favored motorsport. You will always be missed

  • that 2 lap battle between moore and vasser was great.

  • I love the part with Zanardi and the lapped traffic, that was ridiculous. Greg, I miss you bud, I'll say Hi to your dad when I see him.

  • Rest in Peace Greg. You were taken too soon

  • cool circuit

  • R.I.P. Greg, you were taken away too soon. One of the best new young guns ever....you are missed...

  • Greg 99

  • i like seen him in the indy 500

  • What can you say? Greg was a star, a huge talent.

  • Thank you for making this.

  • It was very hard to first lose Ayrton Senna as idol on my birthday, and lose the only driver that ever mananged to win me over, a few year later... Racing god's aren't fair by any means...

To be honest, seeing this tribute touches me more than a Senna tribute... but that could just be because I was a little bit older when Greg had his accident..

  • Mercedes please come back to Indycar!

  • it will be 10 years on halloween this year we must think of him . also i weird thing happened the night he was killed his ghost visited me i was only 10 i still wonder y that happened.

  • I grew up an IndyCar fan, only liking NASCAR later on. Even after the split, I preferred IndyCar, both series, to NASCAR, but when I saw Moore's fatal crash, somehow I had the feeling it was all over for IndyCar as a major motor racing series. And it's never been the same since—all downhill. Moore was the best young talent in the sport and when he was gone, there was really nothing left to hang on to. It was the saddest single day I can remember in all my years of watching racing.

  • God bless you Greg, you were loved by many, and you are missed by even more

  • Ten years ago he celebrated his birthday the last time in his life. Greg, you'll never be forgotten.

  • Greg will always be my fav driver - rip

  • that pass on Zanardi is one of the all time best

  • Almost 10 years and I miss seeing that number 99 to this day, he was such and talented driver and had such a future in motorsports

  • What an incredible driver and a tragic loss. He was an incredible talent, and an amazing driver to watch.

  • I remember watching him from go-karts, through the indy lights series to indy car, i remember watching that race life and bursting into tears as i knew he was gone. I havent watched racing the same way since.

    Rest in peace Greg.

  • When i was a little kid i had a blue toy IRL car that looked like his, so he naturally became my favorite driver to win when i watched races.

  • even tho he was allready a great success

  • greatest canadian cart driver, RIP

    could've been huge success.....

  • Probably the best driver and greatest/purest talent to have ever come from Canada, including JV.

    RIP, GM

  • That was great save by Moore at the very beginning of this vid. This was back when open wheel racing was exciting. It sucks now.

  • Greg More death, the 2nd greatest death of US racing history.

His death split open wheel racing in the us. As of Nov 2008, open wheel racing hasn't recovered.

  • Very hard to watch ,it was unfortunate to see this talented person leave us so early.

  • RIP Greg Moore

  • such a loss greg remember this day 9 years ago mate still haunts me to see your tragic demise god bless you greg R.I.P

  • 9 years ago today. We miss you Greg..

  • Rest in peace, Greg......99 forever.

  • the last great CART champion alongside with gil de ferran

  • What a loss for The IRL.

  • beautiful tribute. im all teared up.

    RIP Greg Moore.

  • I worked at the Toronto Molson Indy and I have a autograph shirt that Paul Tracy and Greg Moore signed this is a good keep sake being a big Moore fan.

  • That was great, I bet if greg ws still around, he'd have a couple indys notched in his belt by now.

  • Beautiful ... thanks.

  • That's a pretty awesome tribute in itself craig1981. Thanks for letting us in on that!

  • Thanks Greg...I miss you man. You were great to watch.

  • I remember JPM crying after the race , bad moment, I cried too, creg forever!

  • He truly touched everyone on that team and everyone in CART! A little later I noticed a pair of gloves in a display case, "RED GLOVES" they were Greg's, and one of Jerry's most prized possessions! Me and Pat were sharing Memories of him and I told Pat to "Never forget the red gloves"! He didn't, to this day I have never seen Patrick race a car without red gloves on! Sends chills down my spine everytime I see him with red gloves on! bricksterr, thank you from the bottom of my heart! GREAT TRIBUTE

  • I remember in 2004 after Patrick Carpentier (Greg's Teamate in 99) won at Mid-Ohio I was in the paddock talking to someof the team and Jerry Forsythe walked over and introduced himself and found out I was a HUGE Moore fan! He invited me and my cousin into the tent, feed us, gave us beer! A little while later Pat showed up and we were sitting around talking and Greg came up and everyone went silent! The tears started!

  • I have to say I'm crying like a baby right now! But I still have a huge smile on my face! What an Awesome driver and an AWESOME PERSON! I got to meet him in Cleveland the year he died and he truly was CANADA'S SON! I do believe he would have been the greatest Canadian driver ever in F1 if only he had made it! I will never forget that day, hearing them say he was gone! I fell to the floor and cried like I am right now! R.I.P. GREG! WE WILL NEVER FORGET! #99! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES! GREAT TRIBUTE

  • They're always talking about Alex Zanardi and Greg Moore. Of course, at the time, they were one of the best drivers for f1 racing. Great job.

    Senna, Moore, Villeneuve,Fangio: for always.

  • absolutely beautiful

  • I`m a journalist, huge fan of racing, i met Greg Moore in Toronto and yes, this tribute brought tears on my eyes. He was ment to go to F1.

  • Greatest tribute Ive seen, thank you for sharing...

  • Great Video. Only editorial, you should have the pass, just before Greg Moore passed at his Last Race. There is a still, it was published in Autosport. 2K8 OK Tk

  • greg moore very easily could have went on to win the fed ex cup and possibly win the indianapolis 500 driving for penske in '00. such a terrible tragedy. RIP greg

  • excellent commentator

  • very well done video... one of the best I've seen. What a brilliant talent.

  • Campari,Ascari,Dick Seaman,Senna,Greg Moore....

.....RIP and thanks for the memories.

    RIP Greg.

  • The bigest tragedy in the Motorsport ever. Why must he drive this race? If I heard that he died i have cried a lot. He would never be forgotten!

  • Thanks Bricksterr for the great tribute. He would have gone on to titles for sure.

  • that is so sad. RIP Greg. You had talent thats for sure.

  • Fantastic tribute, very very emotional. I did hold back the tears untill the very end, when his father came into shot and it all became too much for me.

Grreg would have become multi cart champion had he survived. Was this tribute aired on eurosport then? i would love a copy of this great tribute.

    Carl

    R.I.P Greg

  • Fantastic tribute. Greg's death had a big effect on me, I think especially because he was so young. It's just such a tragedy, as I have no doubt he would've made it to Formula One.

    RIP Greg

  • good video....

  • Vegas Video. You can download a free, 30 day, unlimited demo. A must if you want to give this stuff a try. Similar in scope to Adobe Premiere.

  • Thanks Greg!

    Sad sad day...

    R.I.P Greg

  • Thanks for the really nice tribute...Greg will never be forgotten

  • It's been 8 years now without Greg.

A true gentleman and a fantastic race car driver.

I still miss him so bad.

    You'll never be forgotten champ!!!

  • I'll also never forget that day. I still miss him.

  • It's been exactly 8 years today, but I'll never forget that day, I'll never forget you....

RIP Greg, you're one of the greatest!

  • Go to racing-underground. You'll have to put in the standard w's and .'s for yourself. ;)

  • bricksterr where did u find these videos?

  • I miss Greg after all this time .... always with me.

  • Learn some respect AJ1964 this isn't the place for a debate its a tribute to a great driver thats it.

  • @AJ1964 you're a fucking idiot, Greg Moore was 1000x a better driver then Greg Ray could ever dream of being, and didn't need a crap series with diluted talent and cars that were easy to drive to win races, plus modern IndyCar is only a pale shadow of what CART was

  • Does anyone know where to get videos of Moore like racing and winning races and shit?

  • RIP

  • Waw that's some tribute, i really had tears in my eyes with that photo of the press conference and Adrian talking :(. Is it possible to get the original video file? Are you maybe a member at a certain motorsport forum? Send me a message if you can please.

  • good work guys. i was at that race and this really reminded me of the great driving and attitude he always had.

  • Detroit, I remember that one... And I was not belive it! Me good, he's go fast when 2 in a row (And don't forget the 3 in a row from PT the same years)...

  • I am a NASCAR FAN AND IRL and CART and F1.But what amazes me most,of all the racing clips that I have watched,The IRL,CART,AND F1 fans seem to be the ones with the most heart and tolerance for other people and their opinions.Great tribute btw.All these racers no matter which series deserve respect.RIP Greg.

  • the greatest tribute i ever seen!! good job!! we miss you!

  • I was at California Speedway that day. Greg Moore is still my favorite driver. Thanks for a great tribute.

  • Beautiful tribute. Very classy and touching. Thank you.

  • I was 11 at the time... I cried a lot.

  • Ayrton Senna was a genius in Formula One. Greg Moore was on the same path in CART. What a frickin' waste of talent. Deceased, Moore is still faster & smarter than fellow Canadian Paul Tracy.

  • what track did the fatal crash happen

  • True genius

  • ill never forget when i went to the Molson Indy Vancouver and i was in pit lane and i saw Greg in his garage and realized i met the most nicest gentleman person in the world. I remember that October 31 and i remember never falling asleep that night...

  • Brilliant driver ,Perfect tribute. Greg its not the same anymore, you took a piece with you, The Pride Of Canada. Peace be with you.

  • Great Tribute for this talented driver! We all miss you Greg. Rest in Peace...

  • Its so sad!!! RIP

  • This almost made me cry. AND I NEVER CRY! Great Job.

  • RIP.

  • What an Incredible Driver he as, so young and talented. He is suerly missed by the racing World in general. Thanks for the great show Greg! We'll see later.

  • Cart/Champcar hasn't been the same after this, imo :(. I think that says a lot.

  • look at it this way, all the passed f1 drivers, are racing now..in heaven

  • Great Video, of greg such a talent most likely would of went to F1... Man i remembered those glory days of cart, just memories now such a shame.....

  • RIP Dude

  • He was my favorite driver. I cant believe its been almost 8 years now. His death crushed me to the point where it soured me on racing. I completely lost interest in champ car racing once Greg died. He was so young, and so good. Had he lived, he would have probably become one of the greatest drivers in history.

  • He was always my favourite driver. He had such a great future ahead ...

  • Excellent composition. Not a bad rememberence of the equally great Zanardi, as he and Greg battle tooth and nail. I'll never like another Indy-style competitor as much as Greg Moore. From his epic unlapping and subsequent podium finish in his rookie year at Nazareth, to his conquering of the Ganassi juggernaut at the ill-fated but monumental "Hanford Device" debut US500, he was as hard a racer as can ever be. Because he ended his life and career in the same moment, I know he rests in peace.

  • Just like senna, i still find it hard to take that greg has gone. I loved watching cart back then because he was very gifted and very excitng to watch. I miss that hemel pattern and the number 99. RIP Greg. This video is really good. Well Done.

  • Good video!
