  • is this motor for sale ?? iam looking for a 383 stroker asap and ready to buy

  • @spudharp

We can build you one just like it. Give us a call 1-800-341-1528

  • How much would a motor like this cost, but with a friendlier 10-11:1 compression ratio? I'd like to be able to run 91 octane knowing that I'm doing good by the motor still.

Also, would you be able to ball-park me a power number for said engine?

  • @TripleBarProductions

Call us 800-341-1528 or e-mail us direct info@cnc-motorsports com

We have tons of options and prices depending on the exact power level of the engine.

  • How is a 13:1 engine a "street" engine?

  • @Weightz101

How is it not? We have several customers running race gas or E85 with 13.0:1 as there street engine. This engine was built for the street as the customer choose to run 110 octane fuel.

  • @cncmotorsports So any engine is a "street" engine in that case.

  • @Weightz101

    Correct, it's all customer preference.

  • @cncmotorsports I was going to say the same thing. I personally don't consider a engine that runs on race gas a street engine but i never considered E-85 (you know more than me). I have a 383 and i'm thinkin about makin my own alkyhal. I figure i can make shine to 196 proff and run it as E-85. What do ya think? It's all ethonal.Do you have to do anything special to the engine or can i just rework my 4150? Awsome SBC by the way. You guys are buildin some bad ass engines. Cheers...

  • @hpjunky70

Rework your carburetor and take it to the dyno for tuning. If you can make the fuel, just tune the engine to the fuel. Make sure your fuel is consistent. Thanks for the compliments.

  • @cncmotorsports Thank you. That's a big help.

  • @Weightz101

To a certain point "Yes". Every customer has a different opinion of what they consider a street engine or what they want.. We certainly do. If you want a 13.0:1 .700" lift roller motor for your street car, that is street engine.

  • @Weightz101 I completely agree this is deffinatly not street if you have to run 110 octane. What are you're cam specs by the way?

  • do you machine heads? i need some double humps ported. what could you do to them to open them up? race only i think they are 291's what max hp would they be capable of?

  • @1000moparguy

Yes, we do fully machine heads, we can do anything you want done to the heads. Power depends on engine size, camshafts, compression, and other key parts to determine what power you can make.

  • i need help on getting a good cam, intake, and carb for my 383 stroker. its a running motor already but i wana put more power

  • @roel85ss

Call us 800 341 1528 we can sell you everything to make it scream

  • @roel85ss i can help if you give me all of the specs on your motor i can help point you in the right direction carb and cam wise...

  • sikkchaos im on my 17th engine build u first need to figure out what you are going to do with you car but all your hp comes out from the heads i have had the best results from dart pros in in a far second is trick flos then AFRs

  • ok for starters im 17 and im goin to be a mechanic .. i know engines because ive helped rebuild a few but never to make big hp gains.. i have a 72 327 sbc and i want to make a high rpm 500+ hp screamer.. my budget is about 6gs .. would you have a recipe of parts that would help me achieve my goals.. or even a catologue to order from. If you could get back to me it would really help me out

  • @sikkchaos

Send us and e-mail info@cnc-motorsports com. We can set you up with all the parts to make 500 horsepower. Good cylinder heads are the key..

Knowing engines and building them correctly are two different things. That's great that you have an interest in engines and want to be a mechanic.

  • @sikkchaos as cnc said the most gains you'll get are in cam selection and induction setup. i would recommend doing ALOT of research before your build about cam design. and do ALOT of research on cylinder heads also. you can't really build something untill you have a general understanding of why a certain combo works.

  • 13:1 street engine? Damn!

  • on my last post i need a cam im building a 426 small block dart block callis crank je pistons dart pro heads 230 runners 208 valves i want a solid roller cam that will build hp and tq until 8000 rpm.s

    can u guys help

  • @smedfulful

We can can help you match up a cam for your engine, give us a call 800 341 1528

  • why did the motor stop building tq at 5100 but hp went alot higher rpm

  • one ? im building a 1967 chevy 327 small journal engine and i need connecting rods i would like 400 plus horespower out of this what connecting rods would i need? H beam or I beam

  • @GAG91690

I beam rods would be Just fine. We sell Eagle and Scat, both are more than capable of supporting 500HP and would be a perfect fit for your build. Give us a ca 800 341 1528 and we can get you all set up.

  • hey cnc can i pick your brain on this ???? i am pretty much building same motor and looking for same results if not better i have afr 220 race eliminator heads running same compression and have a comp cam with 300/306,248/254,.562/580@1.5:1,110ls custom i have jr victor intake holly 750 double pumper all internals are scat and balanced. should i change carb to a bigger one and get fully ported intake

  • @partycommandos

Who's 750 Holley, Holley or some other aftermarket Holley? Intake will need to ported to the heads.

  • @cncmotorsports i bought carb from holley direct i have the victor jr 2975 model number they do sell a port match victor jr 2900 should i have gotten this one ???

  • @partycommandos

You will have to port match regardless of who's intake your using.

  • Im thinking of buying a 1964 nova with a 383 stroker. Could any body tell me what type of miles per gallon I should expect for freeway driving?

  • @Itsjames1

You should be able to get 10 mile to the gallon depending on how radical the engine is, and gearing.

  • I recently went from 210 afr to 220 afr.Have yall done much test with 220 on the 383ci.Im running eagle crank and h-beam rods, herbert solid roller630 660 with 1.6 comp rockers hurricane intake with holley hp.Hoping to make 600 to 650 on motor! I will be spraying at least 400! I think my last motor was making around 575hp,it ran 10.70 in a 3250 lb malibu and low 9 on gas.And I have bought most my parts from yall,Thanks for the input!

  • @jasonbennett11

220 is a great head, you might not see a huge gain unless you fully port your intake.

  • Which afr cylinder head was used on this engine?

  • Mine comes out a little motre but I shift at 6,500 then 7,200, depends. No power glide or transco just a TH 350 all done up. Still a nice Motor good sir.

  • @fast79camaro2

Try it and we what happens. I would shft that cam at 7200-7400 RPM

  • Comment removed

  • will a ported victor jr intake go to 7000 to 7200 rpm with no promblems

  • @fast79camaro2

Victor Jr intake will support 8000 RPM

  • Comment removed

  • @fast79camaro2

5.7 rods will easily spin 7200 RPM, you will need to upgrade to ARP 2000 Bolts. As for your heads, this is a huge head for a 383 engine, you will need a huge roller and more compression to make them work. You will also need to spin the engine 8000 RPM in order to make power. As for the flow, 318cfm is where ? 800 lift ?

  • have you guys tested the Huricanne vs the Huricanne Plus intake ?

  • Yes, we have used both of them. Huricane Plus intake is good for all out high RPM big inch motors
