You obviously haven't the slightest clue about setting tax rates. You say that the leftists are the 'adults' because they thing that they should raise tax rates. If you actually gave thought, you would know that the 'ideal' rate of a tax isn't determined by what lefties think. Ideally, a tax rate is determined by making adjustments and observing the results. If taxes are cut and revenues go up, then they were too high. If rev's go down, then they were below the ideal rate. Think.

@flyingturtle89 You are right, in a way. The problem is that lefties like TYTs like to maximize the amount of money raised and then find a way to spend it. Ideally, the amount necessary would be determined and then the appropriate rate determined to raise that amount. If the rate increases beyond the ideal rate, marginal returns decrease. This would indicate to a logical that rates need to be decreased until actual revenues decrease. This is rare at the federal level.
