good stuff, making rice atm for the first time. only thing that i found on the web is that alot of places recommend washing the rice first. ie: put the rice in a pot, fill with water, and stirr with your hand. when the water gets milky, pour it out, and repeat until the water is relatively clean. then do what this guy says. oh also, after the 20 min, alot of people also recommend to let it sit off the heat for about 10 min with the lid on before serving it.
I've heard both. Some of the manufacturers spry the rice with vitamins, which then you wash off when you rinse it. Other people swear by washing it. I go with the easier and the fact that it boils for so long it is sanitized. My sister puts in a little olive oil and garlic salt with the water. She says it's great that way. If you add 3-4 parts water, bring the rice to a boil, strain the water and rice out into a colander ( once cooked), you get great tasting rice with not all the starch
or... people could learn to read the instructions on the freakin package. also, buy a rice cooker, theyre awesome
