  • okay thats awesome but that stupid ass jumping in the pool wasnt. thats not a smart idea and he couldve died

  • "If I'm the first one to jump into the pool everyone will think I am cool and then follow me! Guys? Anyone else? Guys?... oh gawd not again."

  • ??????

  • And this gentlemen is how the arctic was made

  • "the whole bowl?" i always say yes to that question >:D

  • what a nice idea!

  • Amazing to read these comments and immediately tell who's worked with liquid nitrogen in the past and those who don't have a clue or just need to be educated on the substance. LN2 can be safely used if you take the same precautions that you would for handling any other extremely cold liquid PLUS a little common sense!

  • Squares.

  • who else thought she didnt have a top on in the pool?!? wild snorlax lmaoo

  • Haha props to the guy who started singing 'Smoke on the water'

  • Try ice9.

  • Nitrogen doesn't affect the fat chick, extra insulation.

  • now lay down and inhale the nitrogen

  • my favorite part was when the wild snorlax jumped into the pool

  • @tgseason12 "lol. That's not even funny." contradictory statement of the year everybody!!

  • who wants to go skinny dipping?

  • Motherfucking science in this bitch.

  • then everyone dies of nitrogren monoxide inhalation....

  • NERDS

  • @sinkoonsouth It's called science mother fucker.

  • get matches. quickly before people leave!

  • "omg the pool is on fire" ಠ_ಠ

  • this is not a good day to wear sandals

  • Every guest at the holiday inn gets a free bowl of liquid nitrogen.

  • If only swimming pools were like that already

  • flip-flops and liquid nitrogen... deffinately not a recipe for disaster

  • Fire in the Sky

  • If he slipped and got that shit on his face, he'd be dead lol. That's not even funny.

  • @tgseason12 No he wouldn't, it's the same principal as dipping your hand in liquid nitrogen. Very easy and painless if done fast. If the guy slipped, he would of gotten out of it fast enough that it wouldn't do more then get frost on his face.

  • @tgseason12 I agree. It's not even funny, LOL.

  • @tehUBERn00blet Seriously, this is absolutely not a laughing matter LOLOLOLOL

  • @tgseason12 then why did you put "lol" in your comment?

  • @tgseason12 if he got the liquid nitrogen on his face? I'm pretty sure he swam right through it...

  • @rapeasaurus1 More worried that with his head near the surface of the water, he's breathing a higher concentration of nitrogen and much less O2 than normal air. (actually, I wonder what the volume of the nitrogen in the bowl was versus the volume of that space. Clearly it didn't knock anyone out, but that's one of the risks of liquid nitrogen..)

  • @rapeasaurus1 He swam through it after its been mixed with the water and its extreme cold has been dissipated through induction. If he had slipped and that splashed over his face, he would either be dead or horribly disfigured.

  • @tgseason12 Unlikely. I've seen glasses of it thrown at people's faces and it completely evaporates before it hits them.

  • @tgseason12 Then why the fuck did you write lol?

  • @casterr222

I didn't write anything, I typed. Also, what are you even talking about?

  • @tgseason12 but yet you wrote "lol". -__- lol

  • @CandCfreak22

I sure did, and it surely made a lot of people real mad, I love it.

  • @tgseason12 It would turn to gas before it hurt him. You can pour LN down your arm and be fine

  • @Mandragara No. You cant.

  • @RealGoonieKid You can. Look up the Leidenfrost Effect

  • Comment removed

  • @tgseason12 WTF... "He'd be dead lol." and then "that's not even funny"

  • @tgseason12 lol thats not even funny? kinda contradictory.

  • @tgseason12 I got liquid nitrogen poured on my hand in chemistry class as part of a demonstration. My hand was fine. That was because of the huge difference in temperature. So his injuries would probably be minor.

  • @Grivahri only problem is that the leidenfrost effect only works for a very little amount of time, soit being poured on your hand would only last a very short amount of time, if his face landed in it, not only would a portion be possibly submerged in it, but gravity would be against him in getting his face out of it, possibly leading to very severe burns, but most likely not death...

  • By the sound of the crowd you would think something cool happend

  • Cheer for poo.

  • I want an unlimited amount of liquid nitrogen

  • it looks so cool

  • its snowing

  • Cool vid!

  • 1:09 *fadesintomist* *isneverseenagain*

  • tsunami

  • imagine if someone was under the water and all froze up.

  • is the water frozen?

  • normal people swim in pools. geeks throw nitrogen in them

  • is that near bowling green ohio? that hotel looks familiar.

  • have you considered a career in cooling supercomputers?

  • can u swin in it?

  • these are all geeks

  • I want to swim in it

  • nobody get in the pool there's liquid nitrogen i repeat none get in the po- god dammit Steve i said don't get in the pool

  • would've been better in HD.

  • Looks like clouds in the sky.

  • Lol stupid idiot, could of got killed.

  • @Agorsan What do you mean by "could of"?

  • @mrjonhou You put your hand in nitrogen it turns into solid ice in 3 seconds flat mate.

It can smash off im surprised he isnt dead.

  • @Agorsan not if you wet your hand. dig up leidenfrost effect on wikipedia

  • @germarleau Thats for metals.

  • pinche gorda.

  • omg marty mcfly is the camera man =p

  • if it was a real pool of liquid nitrogen the person would freeze but it only hit the top which was probably warmer then the liquid nitrogen so it didn't freeze her

    really good video though

  • Comment removed

  • cool

  • Comment removed

  • that doesn't look safe lol

  • I wouldn't jump in

  • I wuldnt really say into a pool..

  • Wow, same pool/hotel as the movie Cedar Rapids.

  • I srsly thought ice formed haha

  • You just gotta love stupid people "they set the swimming pool on fire!" ugh moron

  • @Reaper46234 clearly he was joking...

  • @RBkidd510 sounded like a woman said it and that they were serious but i didn't really take time to analyze what they said because well honestly i didn't want to hear it again but also people can be that stupid not saying this person was now that you say they were joking but yea

  • it looks ike a hurricane

  • did the pool have chlorine ?

  • if you swam in this pool and swallowed some of the water would it be at all toxic? I mean I know clorene isnt good for you but ive always swallowed a bit every time i go swimming. also lets say the entire estimated like 15,000 gallon pool is 78* ferh would the pools temperature change much? Im fascinated by weird stuff like this lol. thanks for anyone who has the balls / time to answer ;O

  • @knaxon In a swimming pool the amount of chlorine is quite low and therefor not really toxic - think of it: Even salt has chlorine, your stomache acid is a liquid also containing chlorine ions. And so on.... And throwing nitrogen in this pool causes nothing but an intersting picture to look at. Around 78 percent of the air you breeth contains nitrogen. The nitrogen even won't get dissolved in the water.

  • LMAO some1s an arsonist......who wants to see the pool on fire????

  • @Kingdakota97 I think you might be thinking of Nitroglycerine. Nitrogen isn't flammable.

  • i would of put more

  • Smoke on the water

  • @cheers369 A Fire in the Sky

  • Comment removed

  • did she ever get her twenty bucks?

  • thats cool

  • FOR SCIENCE!

  • i want that type of pool so i can be a hidden swimming pool moster!

  • he later died that day...

  • "the whole bowl" "yea" ca poooofffffffff

  • When that shit touches your skin, not such a good idea.

  • haha "\20 bucks to the first one that jumps in"

  • now u wouldnt be able to swim in that no more?

  • SCIENCE

  • And the nerds cheer... Some people wonder why they have no friends

  • She could have froze.

  • @iRainSunshinee nope, the liquid nitrogen only scattered on the surface of the water, it didn't sink into it. If it did, you would see the water being turned to ice.

  • whatever u do.. do not fall in!

  • bet the hotel was pissed

  • crazy onlookers right?

  • i have never seen some one get killed by liquid nitrogen on law and order

  • now this would be a great way to make a movie.

  • thanks to youtube, the world`s usag of liquid nitrogen has increased by 87%.

  • ok now EVERYBODY JUMP IN!

  • did anyone see that whale dive in the pool?

  • i thought liquid nitrogen freezes you instantely?

  • @gamegirl579 I think its lighter than water so it just floats on the surface.

  • @gamegirl579 There is too much water in the pool, the water heats up the liquid nitrogen very quickly, and so it turns into nitrogen gas.

  • @gamegirl579 The temperature difference between the nitrogen and the water/human tissue is so large that the nitrogen close to the water/human body will evaporate rapidly creating an "air pillow" inbetween. This makes it possible to actually put your hands in liquid nitrogen for a few seconds without consequences. BUT ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS!

Have you ever seen a droplet of water on a hotplate? This works the same.. The droplet will float on the hotplate not touching it.

  • lol try playing marco polo :D

  • CLAPPING FOR SCIENCE WOOO, this is fucking stupid how much did the motel 6 charge you for fucking up their pool

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you..

    the UNhot tub!

  • 1:10 Swallowed by the Mist.

  • then there is that one crazy bitch who says "now set it on fire!"

  • I don't think it's very smart for him to be throwing liquid nitrogen like that, he could have been seriously injured.

  • Can That Freeze The Whole Pool?

  • If this clown had spilled this stuff on his feet, his skin would have become like a glass slipper.

At that point he would have probably stumbled and planted his face in the brew of N2 - the video would have gone viral and his face would have just gone.

  • @nehtrebor It is viral

  • This is the way nerds have fun with a swimming pool...

  • the stupid fat chick... would be funny if it froze the top like 4 inch thick

  • Would have been funny if she came up as an ice cube like in the cartoons :P

  • Whoa whoa whoa did SHE come back up?!

  • Dhg

  • its a swimming pool of chuck norris

  • That must have been super cold.

  • Instantaneous skating rink!

  • someone smart: how does the nitrogen stay so cold? doesnt it warm up with its surroundings? how does it get that cold to start with? thanks =]

  • @xxxcatxxxx Nitrogen is a gas at room temperature. Hence, for it to be a liquid, they must have had to cool it down considerably.

  • @xxxcatxxxx If you look at a water molecule (as an example), it has partial charges that attract other water molecules and help keep them together, so it's liquid at room temp. Nitrogen's structure causes it to not "stick together" as well, so it's a gas at room temp. In order to make it liquid, you have to make it very cold, which slows down the molecules and compresses them. See all of the fog above it in the video? That's it turning back into gas..kinda like when water steams. :)

  • @xxxcatxxxx If you look, you can see the bowl of nitrogen bubbling and boiling as he carries it. To get it cold you just need a good enough freezer.

  • You're not supposed to wear safety material while working with liquid nitrogen

If liquid nitrogen were to get on clothing or any sort of fiber it'll leak through it and burn your skin where as if it splashed on you it'd immediately dissipate you can in fact submerge your hand in it if you wanted to but long exposure would be VERY BAD

    science noobs

  • Guy #! Hey look liquid nitrogen!! it would frostbite the skin off of you and intoxicate you at high concentrations. Lets wear sandals, t shirts and swim in a pool full of it.

Guy #2: Dude you are a genius !! *jumps in*

That my children was Darwin's laws at work. Morons deserve to die.

  • @qetuo1000 Says the moron

  • The whole bowl? YEAH! *Throws*

  • Do you even know much energy it would take for the pool to actually become as cold as the liquid nitrogen though it would freeze before it reached the same temperature as the nitro

  • You can do that

  • I would be the guy jumping in!!!!!!!!!!

  • ummm.... it was faked somehow no gloves a towel to hold a metal pan of liquid nitro would not of helped and the fool jumped in it and came up moving in 1 piece

  • In Florida, in a town called Kissimmee, the use nitrogen to make ice cream. The store is currently called Boola. Have you ever tried ice cream with actual pieces of fruit, chocolate or even coffee in it? Not to mention the marshmallow, Oreo cookies, and cinnamon.

  • @JuanDVene The franchise is called Pure Magic ice cream

  • Yup, those onlookers look CRAZAY!

  • at what point did they not think liquid nitrogen was not dangerous

  • go to sunfan1996 to see something cooler

  • Any other videos of this from a different angle? :-p

  • 1 way to f*ck up a pool...

  • @DRcatscratch liquid nitrogen will revert into gas when heated and the water is simply too much to be frozen so nothing should be damaged anyway.

  • @DRcatscratch It's super cooled nitrogen, evaporation will soon take place, the nitrogen will join the other 78% of earth's nitrogen and the pool will be as it once was..

  • @DRcatscratch Not really ;)

  • filming!

  • What happens if elemental Sodium is thrown into liquid nitrogen? Does it have the same reaction if thrown in water, or is it more explosive? Or no reaction?

  • @CiaoBello21 Shouldn't have any reaction I think......

  • DUCE

  • I would drop my goldfish in it :D

  • I'd be the first to jump in xD

  • uberly sick !

  • that shit cray

  • CANNON BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

  • what if someone was underwater? hehe sux to be them

  • The whole bowl?

    YEah

    WOOOOO

NOW POOL PARTY! EVERYONE JUMPS IN! LOL

  • yaaaaa.......... hurricane forms FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

  • EPIC

  • so thats how clouds are made

  • "how cool is that" she says.. i see what you did there

  • Really would have been funny if he spilled it on his bare feet. Idiot.

  • @pookatim

actually, you can pour liquid nitrogen over your hand, and the gasses / heat around your heat will protect it / hand will never never be touched by it. its only when you submerge it is when u have problems. :P
