im a mainstream listener and i like dubstep and metal, but i freakin love this song. i can play it on guitar, and i dont like the prejudice that people like me dont like acoustic stuff. stereotype guys... think about it...
an amazing songwriter, performer, musician & artist..what's tragic about the music "business" is that they shun artists in favor of bullshit...the world is a worse place because of it too..
I drove to Chicago to see Joe Henry. AMAZING!! Afterwards I wanted his autograph, so I waited a little while, then knocked lightly on tour bus. He opened the door & I asked for it nervously. He invited me in and found a pen. His wife, (Madooa's sister) was playing solitare. He was impressed that I drove from missouri to Chicago to see him. WOW!!! He said he wasn't suitable for mass consumpton. . . Humble, very kind, & personable musican I have ever met. He is AMAZING....
@plrumme I know on bass it is Jennifer Condos( Ray Lamontagne, Aimme Mann among others she worked with). Seated guitarist I believe name was Greg? and is deceased a few years ago. All I know.
Such great talent almost always goes completely ignored by the polluted musical mainstream public. You can't force feed a musically handicapped public music of this quality...they prefer to eat the musical equivlent of unhealthy fast food!
Saw this band at The 8x10 in Baltimore. I knew it was a great show at the time, but it's stayed with me for years as very few others I can think of. Jamie Haddad on keyboards was amazing.
I remember Joe saying, during the show, "It's always been my goal to have a band in which I was the worst musician and I've finally done it."
Just saw Joe last night at Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC. He did this song as well as "Stop", 8 songs from the amazing new CD "Civilians" and a couple others. GREAT show!!!

Great song -lucky to see him in the Spiegel Tent in Sydney a few years back and have a chat after the show - very personable and great songwriter.

My wife and I met him after a show in Toronto, he spent a good 45 minutes with us, talking about music and songwriting.
I will never forget that night, it was just perfect.
I had a couple of his CDs in the car and he gladly signed them.
He was very polite and gracious, a great guy!

Could someone post who the other musicians in the band are? It's always nice to be able to see what the others are up to. Would be obliged.

If anyone happens to hold sway with the Great Mr. Henry, Please ask him to come to KC and make an old disabled fart very happy. :)

That's setting the bar pretty high.
