  • The sound is slightly out of sync, but it's better than the jittery video that it used to be.

  • YouTube, after many years, has restored the playback quality of this video.

  • Why this shit have 6 stars ?

  • your camera is crap

  • Get a camera instead of crapy photo shop

  • @p1ckn0s3 If you had read the side bar you would have understood that YouTube damaged this video through several recompressions during back up. If you had clicked on the link at the beginning of the video, you would have been re-directed to a restored version of this video that runs smoother.

  • muy padre tu explicacion de los chacos

  • Talkin the talk....but now use them... :)

  • Hey please tell me for what are the string Nunchaku used and for what are the chain Nunchaku used? thx

  • The basis for string nunchaku may be the forerunner of nunchaku called muge or horse bridle. Also, the use of string may have come from the lack of quality metal to make chain.

  • yea, I would have like to watch this vid but for me it's nearly impossible because of how choppy it is.

You want to reload it bud, like you mentioned.

  • true cant see shit

  • click the hyperlink on screen...it will lead you to the new uploaded video

  • I've made my nunchucks and am nearly ready to string them; I've had this vid saved for some time and thought it was my computer making it jump like it does! I hope you can straighten it out soon, I've spent a lot of time preparing and don't want to do a poor stringing job. Also, where is that set of picks available from?

  • I've just seen the info on the picks, thanks.

  • YouTube screwed up this video. I'm going to re-do it in HD, so check back in a few days.

  • hey do you think you could repost this video in HD so it can be clearly viewed? or tell me where I can view it clearly on the web. thanks

  • This wasn't shot in HD. It was originally in SD. When YouTube switched to HD, they screwed up the compression while making it fit the new player. I've requested that they fix it, but I'm not holding my breath. As a sort of celebration, when this vid reaches 30,000 views your wish will come true. A new vid on this subject in HD!

  • This video has been reposted with annotations. HD version in the works.

  • du bist genial das du uns sowas zeigst ich bin ein großer fan

  • Vielen dank für watchimg mein video.

  • I just recently made my first pair of wooden nunchucks, Before this I had rubber training ones.

I've noticed that the Chain is very "stiff" as in it has a popping motion when it swings. I am going to make a pair with rope what do you recommend I use?

  • Use what I and every other credible manufacturer uses: Mil-spec parachute chord.

  • Alright.

What about nylon though, is that recommend?

  • Not any nylon will do. Mil-spec parachute cord is made of nylon, but of specific strength, flexibility, and wear characteristics. USE PARACHUTE CORD. Don't use laundry line or twine.

  • Uhh...

Maybe a stupid question.. ..but.. ..what's the difference between chain and para-cord? flexibility or something?

  • The differences are: parachord is lighter, quieter, smoother, and faster than chain.

  • yeah your right ive had both pairs and i like the cord a lot more.

  • not really its just the chain has ball bearings in the swivel its all preference

  • Nice work. Thanks.

Still looking for the third string on this 'TRIPLE' string set-up

Maybe my eyes are bad - I only count 2.

    Cheers

  • ill try, is it advisable to get a longer cord, (i used to long cord)

  • The length of cord is up to the user. I keep mine the way it is for combat effectiveness, NOT for freestyle spinning.

  • thanks :)

  • what was the point?

  • Read the side bar.

  • about how much are those stringing tools?

  • About $5.00

  • ok a few questions

how deep is the top hole?

there is two holes on the side, how far down is the irst the the second??

and were did u get teh cord??? plz anser thnx

  • I answered your questions 6 months ago. Search down the list of comments. Your answers are there.

  • haha...newb lol jk jk

  • Thanks for this video

  • Awesome tutorial :D I'm just a little lost on the weaving of the cord around 6:04, you start to show how it's done but you cut to where it is complete. Do you have other video's of you weaving the cord that I must see? Other than that 10/10 awesome work :D

  • Stay tuned in. I'm planning a live broadcast on blogTV on how to re-string nunchaku.

  • wow, nice work!

I like how you made them, so I will build myself some like you did. U're a good guide.

But I've got one question: How long does the cord you use has to be?

Thats the only thing I cannot find in your video...

    thanks

  • Start with the cord being 4 times the length of a single baton. You'll end up trimming some off at the end.

  • thanks

  • Cool knife lol. Good nunchakus. (Y)

  • thanks, your video is very helpful, but i was wondering where can you get string like that and around how much does it cost?

  • It's MIL-SPEC parachute cord. Available at your local Army-Navy surplus shop/or outdoor outfitter.

  • C: I'm going to try making my own tomorrow using this as a guide. Thank you for uploading it.

  • Be sure you read and understand your state and local laws concerning nunchaku...Otherwise, have fun and be careful.

  • No words necessary. Great lesson. Thank you for sharing.

  • really nice video, thank you so much. 5/5 :)

  • You are most welcome.

  • Good work guy!!

  • Simple, direct and efficient.

    Very nice.

    Thanks.

  • THIS VIDEO IS AWSOME

  • Just a friendly note that there is NO residence exemption in California for nunchaku possession.

  • well those are some sexy knots i must say

  • I would like to buy the same parachute chord but I was wondering how thick it is. The holes are 8mm so I think the chord is something like 4mm?

  • Parachute cord easily compresses since it has a lot of air in it. You want the cord tight inside the bores so they don't slip out of place.

  • hey what tools are you using i cant see them very well some small hooks or what?

  • The tool set is made by General Tools (part number 60004). You should be able to find it (or something similar) at your local hardware store or automotive supply shop.

  • can you send me a 2 pairs of free numchucks

  • Sorry. No free weapons :o(

  • I am amazed while watching this, I only touched the nunchuck once in high school and was intimated by it especially when my friend showed off his moves. I think the only nunchuck I'm good at is the one with the Wii

  • I think I'll make one when I move to my new apt to as protection ;)

  • Thanks for the video. I've enjoyed your re-wrapping sai video as well. I agree that commentary would be helpful here. Especially, when you are braiding the strings together. I'm not that creative so you lost me a little there. Thanks again.

  • what the hell hehe

    nice vid

    ill try to make nunchaku

    im noob about this

ill make one so i can start training

    anyway

    thanks a lot

  • awsome... but the vid would be a lot better with music lolz

  • I may add voice over later. Music? I'm a teacher, not a DJ :o(

  • LMAO!! DJ ere ere nunchucks LOL

  • shoe lace strings sucks they don't last too long

  • Natural fiber string/cord wears out very fast. Avoid cotton and laundry line material. The strongest cord material best for nunchaku is parachute cord, sometimes called shock cord (not to be confused with bungee cord!).

  • how strong is the string my wood nunchuck i put tape on the tip of the string where the hole and the string so it wont warn off and break.

  • whats the different between nunchucks and Nunchaku and speed chuck

  • Let's look at the "nunchaku" in katakana (Japanese writing form): ヌンチャク. The first character is NU, the second is N, the third and fourth are pronounced together CHIYA (or CHA), and the last is KU. When spoken at normal speed, the Japanese/Okinawans often drop the "U" part of the last syllable. If they want to emphasize words that end in "U," they will pronounce it. A "speed chuck" is just a light-weight version, usually meant for tricks and flashy kata. It doesn't have combat strength.

  • ahhh i get it

  • Very nice video. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Humble student.

  • You're most welcome.

  • what r the tools u used to pull the strings

  • The tool set is made by General Tools (part number 60004). You should be able to find it (or something similar) at your local hardware store or automotive supply shop.

  • nice video but i have questions.

    how long was the cord?

how wide were the drilled holes?

    wht kind of wood?

how long is each wood piece?

    tanx and please reply

  • Thanks for viewing. The cord starts roughly twice as long as both sticks together. The side holes are 8mm in diameter and are spaced 3.2 mm apart on center; 3.2 cm down from the top. I use white oak (tougher than red oak). The length of each stick should be from your elbow tip to the center of your palm. The sticks taper from 3.5 cm to 2.5 cm. To most people, this is oversized & heavy. Adjust the distance between both sticks to your preference, braid, melt, and tuck. Owarimasu...(done).

  • why triple string?

    stronger?

  • If you have a double "string" failure (through wear or weak knots), you risk sending one of the sticks flying away from you out of control. By triple-stringing, you add insurance that there's no slip and less wear.

  • what kind of rope do you use mine did not stop burning :)

  • I use military grade parachute cord. It will burn if you leave the flame on too long. If that hapens, just blow the flame out.

  • Very good workmanship!

  • Domo arigato gozaimasu.

  • Nice tutorial bro, thanks for not adding any BS BGM xD

  • Great video tutorial,

I cant wait for the making nunchaku from scratch video. I like the idea of making my own , so I can add my personal touch to them.

  • Man, too bad nun-chakus are banned in MA.. =/

  • In CA, it's illegal to carry nunchaku. The only exceptions are: 1) at place of residence, and 2) at registered places of practice and/or demonstration.

  • Great video, all i needed to know was here, thank you :)

  • Thanks foe subscribing!

  • A good quality video that shows all that i needed to know about making nunchakus, thank you :).

  • Thanks for the great comments!

  • Good job with the vid.

It's good to see poeple taking the time

to string their nunchaku right for a change.

  • Thank you for the compliment. I plan on making more tutorials, as time permits. Besides this one, I have a tutorial on how to re-wrap sai handles. Not long from now, I'll do a "how-to" on making nunchaku from scratch and restoring rusty sai.

  • hjijufghklghggklf sorrt i had to do that to make my other comment pop up.

  • Interesting? I've never had to do that. If it happens to me...may be I'll use something like "oogieboogieoogieboogie-slap!"

  • Or just hit the "refresh" button...

  • wow coolio man, i love ur other videos too and make more and u don't have to check out my channel on my youtube account its boring and i don't have any videos but i will be soon. suscribe to them if u ever see them and comment me back, bye!!! :)
