@BHathensfanatics how do you define what makes a propaganda video?what do you mean by "OUR" favorite music?and why should i hang myself? :- o if you don't like it, don't watch it. it's as simple as that.
one of the best Joy Division track in my humble opinion. Captures a lot of things, Has a working class kid who grew up in Macclesfield , we wore swastikas and ss enamel badges to show contempt. We rebelled by praising the horror.
PS The working class of England ,France,Belgium,Holland ,Italy, etc All got fucked by the natzis, Norman Finkelsteins book the holocaust Industry. The biggest holocaust revisionist are the jews themselves , who wrote everyone elses suffering out of the picture. Vicy Flat
And another question: What Holocaust?? I don´t believe in any Fuking Holocaust, maybe we must begin with that part first... By default, all the people say: The Holocaust, the holocaust... Believen complety in this argument of the jews. I deny the holocaust, if i say this in Germany, probably i sleep in jail... But in my Country, i can say what i think. That´s is freedom!!!
@Unterseeboot243 again, if that's what you believe in, then good for you. i'm not here to shove my ideas down your throat.. and by the way that segment of the video pertaining to the holocaust was only shown for a few minutes so there's no need to get all fired up about it..
@Unterseeboot243 im not the sort of person who enjoys political debates especially with someone who makes little sense and is irascible by nature..so if you really want to discuss the holocaust, there's tons of sites out there waiting for you... and one more thing, in my country i can also say what i think.
@Unterseeboot243 take part in what?what section?you're the one who always tried to talk about this theme.. you seem to be obssessed with denying the holocaust. you can do that all day if you want to, but not on this channel. go somewhere else. i've had enough of this nonsense. this is the last time you'll be posting a comment here.
I agree -I always think of the word 'sepulchral' when I think of JD -with this song and Atmosphere especially-dont know if that makes any sense--wonderful video and song!!
What is the song about, exactly? It doesn't exactly carry that same message that Candidate did (that song was about Ian being pressured into being a musician ). My guess is that it has something to do with young men disappearing in a land that needs them the most. Then they come back but are no longer welcome.
The song itself is wonderful. Some of the best keyboard work I've ever heard.
@NintendoSegaSonyGuy for me the song seems to express the inevitability of human suffering, that we are destined to repeat the same mistakes again and again. no matter how far we've progressed, we will always encounter the same old problems. but i'd have to agree with you.. your interpretation of the lyrics actually makes more sense.. it's actually spot on.
@anemicsilence "Each ritual showed up the door for our wanderings" this explicitly claims that the cause of our suffering is "institutionalism", even this is religion, political ideology, financial markets, football etc...
@anemicsilence I think they are older 2002-borrowed from somewhere else.I think they belong to the surrealist era.I have seen them before-Art college I think.3.16 on this video.

Very Relevent, I still recall the first time I heard this song back in 1980 and all the feelings about the human condition it raised. And for all that, it is still a great work of art, your visuals work.
Ok... I relax for... Another 65 years? Like the rest of the people just watching how this plague expand their roots? Ok... I do that, when I come back idiot. You talking about narrow minded and i asked to you: You cannot see another interpretation to make the video? Why because they continue to promote the same thing every time we hear something about Joy Division or anything else that have a connotation of WWII? That, my friend is a very Narrow minded vision don´t you think? Thanks for answer.
@Unterseeboot243 uunterseeboot, if you are not so happy with this video why not create one and show your own interpretation of the song? and who's "promoting the same thing everytime we hear something about joy division or anything else that have a connotation of WWII?"..i got kinda lost there. don't know what you're trying to get across here, what is your point exactly?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And what a fuck with the fucking Jewish? There´s any relation between this "people" and one of the best songs of Joy División? Damn, this fucking "religion" is the cancer of the world and we are their promoters... Remembering the Horror things that their suffer... Fuck with the Jewish!
@Unterseeboot243 relax unterseeboot, i was only showing my own interpretation of the lyrics.is there something wrong with that?you're obviously anti-semite and narrow minded so there's no sense in explaining any further..and by the way, i'm an atheist that's why promoting religion is a big no-no for me.
@iononsononessuno he's jimmy swaggart, a christian televangelist.you can see him crying here while giving a sort of confession or speech.i think he was exposed for soliciting a prostitute.
@mikeyio2010 (1 of 2) yeah.you're right.actually it's called Koyaanisqatsi, just one of the films in the trilogy directed by the brilliant Godfrey Reggio. fact is i intended to post the list of films i used for making this video. but because my other videos (transmission & atmosphere - joy division and some songs related to the film lost in translation) were pulled down by youtube due to some issue regarding copyright infringement i had to refrain from posting the said list.

GREAT great song. Interesting how much of the "melody" sounds somewhat like the chanting of the Catholic litergy during mass. And I gotta' say, this video...words fail. It's very, VERY, good.
Great job on the video! I wonder where you have found all these old clips, is there any torrent with clips like this? PM me.. It reminds me of Cabaret Voltaires videos.
absolutley fantastic piece of work being a lifelong fan of joy division i think what you have done marries perfectly with the song. you gotta get into this professionally it is f***ing awesome - thank you
beautiful, perfect, awesome video. im just blown away by your talent. i thought this was a professional video until i read the comments. if this is what you love to do, you obviously have the talent.
I must have listened to Decades several dozen times before I happened to find this, but listening to it while watching the imagery made it a new, even more powerful experience. You did an absolutely incredible job with this video; it is easily among the very best videos I've ever seen.
@schtat not yet. maybe one day.and that's a big maybe... i'm already (well, somewhat) content with my job, but i've been thinking about it from time to time, i just don't know how and where to start. there's also a lot of things that i have to consider. thanks again for watching the vid.
If you're not making videos for a living, you're wasting your talent and time! Outstanding! I've been a fan of Joy Division since "79, and what you've done here is fantastic!
@SenseiNWDA thanks a lot. i usually made videos way back when i was unemployed just to spend some spare time, i'd just look through a bunch of movies and edit them to create music vids. never thought of making it a living, maybe one day i guess..
So strange to listen to recordings of thirty years ago and understand that nothing is more heartfelt, sincere and devastating for all past and not heard. very strange to see now New Order - a group with the greatest post-punk past and understand that now it is just dance music. As if Ian Curtis was the only dark romantic singing for the dead and look beyond the the doomed solitary existence.
Amazing song. Amazing video. pardon my ignorance of the language.

I must have listened to Decades several dozen times before I happened to find this, but listening to it while watching the imagery made it a new, even more powerful experience. You did an absolutely incredible job with this video; it is easily among the very best videos I've ever seen.

@schtat yes, i'd be glad to do that. just message me in my inbox and tell me what you'd like to do.

This really is a stunning piece of work, great display of imagination. I keep coming back to it. Have you made a professional career out of it yet?
schtat 10 months ago
@schtat not yet. maybe one day.and that's a big maybe... i'm already (well, somewhat) content with my job, but i've been thinking about it from time to time, i just don't know how and where to start. there's also a lot of things that i have to consider. thanks again for watching the vid.

unfortunately, i'm not really that talented. and besides, i'm miles away from where you're at. thanks again anyway, i really appreciate it.
anemicsilence 11 months ago
I think you have a real talent. If I was still a working musician, I'd hire you to do a video. Consider that a referance.

If you're not making videos for a living, you're wasting your talent and time! Outstanding! I've been a fan of Joy Division since "79, and what you've done here is fantastic!
SenseiNWDA 11 months ago
@SenseiNWDA thanks a lot. i usually made videos way back when i was unemployed just to spend some spare time, i'd just look through a bunch of movies and edit them to create music vids. never thought of making it a living, maybe one day i guess..

sarhana1 11 months ago
@sarhana1 i'm just a big fan of joy division who also admires ian curtis' poetic lyrics..

es ist bewegend und unvergesslich - die Musik und der Clip gehen unter die Haut und ... bleiben dort stecken, bohren Löcher ins Herz, ermahnen das Gerhirn.
