I personally would love to see Persians focus on their proud, long history. Persia is historically one of the oldest and wisest cultures in the world. By the way, this is coming from an Irishman!
The importance of teaching kids about pre-Islamic Iranian history falls with the parents, which belive it or not are not talking with kids about this subjects! We also noticing our kids starting from age of 13 or 14 are getting very interested about their history. ... (more)
i noe thats right i love everthng about my culture i have a neckalace that sys iran on it and i wear it everyday and no one dares say anythin ecspecially with the contoversy and bitterness between america and iran
Being Iranian is not just about speaking Parsi, eating Iranian food, and visiting Iran. These are all important, but what is often neglected is the lack of knowledge about pre-Islamic Iranian history. Not many Iranians know about their own history (including the first generations in the diaspora) and that is shameful. This must be changed starting with the second generation.
i agree, even though i am not from iran, i understand your delema, you cant have your people growing up seeing what the west wants others to see of your country.
