  • Whoa!! o.O

-70 degrees is absolutely INSANE! This is why I'm so fascinated about Russia. Such an uninhabitable climate can be made into the world's most powerful country by these people.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. We reach 122 degrees here. Coldest we get is about 30, and that's extremely rare.

  • I dont think I could ever imagine how cold -70 really is when I would consider +3 degrees to be incredibly cold. :D

  • I have, have.....check for Expedition Arabia, and you will see....

  • OMG -70 F... Are you joking???...the coldest temperature i have experienced is -1 *C ( 30 F ) because i live in crete-greece,and i thought i was gonna die from the cold!! Although i have experienced +46 *C ( 115 F ) which you haven't! :)

  • -70 F is almost -57 C !!!!Oh mann,we are talking about a very very very frozen weather!!!if youpour water from a bucket at -60 C,it's gonna freeze immediately!!!Hahahaha :-DDD

  • IM FROZEN TO THE GROUND

  • Typical January day in Minnesota.

  • it dosent snow where i live

  • man,youre lucky xD

  • Or what if they come to death valley where its 120 degrees average in the summer

  • bmx(...) I live in a place where we get to -30 C and to +30 C in one year. Nothing uncommon. You just live with that. Wear the right stuff and you're fine :)

That's lower negative 20's to upper positive 80's in Fahrenheit.

  • i went there last summer its very beatiful. it hit 122F one day at badwater.

  • invite them :D

  • 90 f or above. come to my place bayb.

  • doiiiing doiiing doiiing doiiiing doiiing doiiing doiiiing doiiing doiiing doiiiing doiiing doiiing

  • wowow i wanna go there.. bye bye 22ºC of Portugal in February..hello -70ºC Siberia lol

  • Shut the fuck up

  • get a life cube of ice

  • no, it's not minus 70 c it's minus 21 c.. the title is in Fahrenheit

  • ok ;)

  • -21C is minus -6F dude

  • thank you, the problem is that my convertor from my cell phone had gotten broken, and then i had to use one from the net, apparently is not so good. thanks anyway

  • What if people who are used to live in a -30up degrees will move to my hometown the Manila Philippines that has an average temp of 80-90? What will happen to them? hmmm. I want to experience this kind of temp. XD

  • Or if they came to where I live in California when last year in the summer it reached 104˚F in the summer

  • I'll stay in Virginia. Anything below 32 is brutally cold.

  • what about those of us that live in Minnesota? Our winters aren't exactly warm...............

  • Minnesota gets cold but not like Fairbanks Alaska! I cannot complian though, we have no bums come spring each year!

  • pissin ice sickles

  • @ 1:10 damn, that guy isn't even wearing gloves!

  • -"Say John, how cold is it?"

-"I'd say it's about as cold as it gets."

  • nice video....what about english subtitles? then we all know what you're saying...apart that it's cold!! ;)

  • Swedish, is the language

  • what language is he speaking??? its not russian or english...

  • people whine here in san antonio when it gets below freezing. I cant even imagine this crap!

  • ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • that looks pretty cold, and people think its cold here. in the middle of winter maybe it will hit -3 celc overnight. in the day on a sunny day it may hit 10.

at least you wouldnt need a deep freeze in the house you could store your cold storage items outside.

  • Same here in Sweden, people always whine when it get below zero

  • I feel bad for the horses :(

  • Why, they don´t seem to suffer a great deal. But I saw another (German) video here on YouTube showing cows in this region. They actually don´t seem very happy about going out of their comfortable heated stallings in an air -62°C warm. The stallings have to be heated because otherwise the milk will become worthless from the cold (I think).

  • it's so cold his English is coming out of his mouth all foreign like

  • @MichaelDio Hehehe :-D Yes that's right!!!! That's because in temperatures like -57 C,even your mouth can get frozen!!!! :-P

  • Ya know, that's pretty fuckin cold!

  • I just saw a video where it was -68 * Celsuis. That`s cold

  • Is this the Artic,In Alberta Canada Temperature's Reached-47 Celsius...Siberia and the Artic is Freezin!!

  • stay away from us

  • Russia is pathetic, they must depend on these hard working poor people for their protein.

And they get almost nothing in return!

  • America also is pathetic in some ways too. Please try not to be so close minded.

  • Was there any mention that America was not pathetic?

America spends billions buying gas at the pump, but the countries it comes from are dirt poor. Same with diamonds. Same with lumber. Americans are cheap and greedy.

  • what the fuck is pathetic about it? the only difference between this and any other place in the world is that it is a little bit colder. they look pretty well off actually, satelite dishes and everything!

  • yeah, why do people love to bash other countries? Every country has both great and pathetic qualities. All that really matters is how you feel about your country. For me, America has been great to me and I love it. But I also like traveling the world.

  • Oh because they have satellite dishes they're just like people where you live? Wow, what an ignorant, stupid remark. These people live cold, harsh lives and try to make the best of it. You know, when I was a little kid I lived in a basement and played with cockroaches that ran across the floor, but guess what. We had a satellite dish! That automatically means our lives are completely normal to you right?

  • Dumbass. What makes you think they are miserable? COLD weather has nothing to do with bad life. I have lived many years in -30 C and I liked it. I'm not saying they're that well off but I have no reason to believe they're any worse off than anyone else in Russia.

  • @monobrowperson

a little ? have a look on google earth and check out the average temperatures there -15 to - 40 thats more than a little .

  • @monobrowperson 26 january / record low temp -71,2C !!!

  • Tnx for making/sharing this awsome, most rare and interesting video material! (I believe it shows a swedish expedition up the Kolyma River in Siberia, at the former GULag settlement, Srednekolymsk. Narration describes native customs and two of natures most amazing creatures: The Chukchi horsebreeder and The Yakutsk Horse, that survives outdoor all year through extended polar winters. JohanIvar went there!? --A bold move considering... Pls tell more and why you went?

  • Global Warming can't come soon enough for people stuck in places like this.

  • The so called Global Warming will ultimately make places like this even colder, and for longer periods.

  • You allude at things like The Day After Tomorrow?

  • Yes.

  • The temperature during this expedition exceeded -50C degrees. Our thermometers didn't go further down so we can't really tell how cold it really was. Take my words for it though, it was cold enough.

  • He say it's around -50 C degrees. And it is not German, it's Swedish :)

  • i don't speak german, how cold does the guy say it is in the video
