Ok, so I have been having MS symptoms for the past year. I had my first MRI today and the doctor called me to tell me that it looks like MS. I have 2 MRI's next week to confirm the diagnosis and I'm terrified.
Fatigue and having 'legs fatigued' means not being able to shimmy in to a motorized wheel chair WITH assistance simply to get to the bathroom and still can't accomplish this feat before incontinence occurs... Do NOT try to be the face of Multiple Sclerosis after getting home from the gym, physical therapy, and say you're freaking fatigued!!!!!!!
@maybelazy1 Not trying to be the face of anything my friend. I'm just sharin my story. I'm really sorry you're SO UP TIGHT about your current situation. I hope and pray things will continue to get before for you as they have for me. Make it a great day :)
Going from 40 years old to 85 in a few years... Your family watching you slowly die over the course of years or maybe decades, you or anyone else never knows how long it will take... Yes positive things can one from ANYTHING in life, but do NOT try to tell people who live with everything ms has to offer that they can find something positive because you don't know... The positive may be waiting on the other side...
Multiple sclerosis is not moving, not comprehending, not walking, peeing on yourself Everyday, falling down & unable to get up, massive medical bills, increasing prescription & insurance costs, ripping families apart, no longer being able to afford Anything, including your children's college, having your entire future stripped from you...
Yes, if you can make yourself happy through everything that ms has to throw at you I smile to hear even one person can. Realize that going to the gym AT ALL is NOT multiple sclerosis - that is like having a cancerous mole cut out and saying to someone dying of bone cancer that 'cancer is a struggle' or 'having cancer is life changing'... It is not comparable...
I am glad that you are still positive, Please hold on to that... I am just concerned that people are constantly getting bombarded of images & messages of people who are 'fighting' multiple sclerosis. Do not be confused, ms is not something you can fight & that is fact, there isn't anything you can do as a person diet, exercise, attitude, etc that changes the course of this disease. That is a FACT of ms
@maybelazy1 I disagree with you my friend. You can fight it. You can beat it. I am living proof. My health is improving by leaps and bounds. With your attitude unfortunately success with come your way. Mindset, attitude, faith and work are the keys to overcoming the obstacles of life.
I definitely disagree with your statement. Diet , exercise, ATTITUDE help managing MS. I have MS for almost 10 years. The symptoms of tingling, paralysis, numbness ,tremors and double vision.... I experienced most of them.As I started eating differently, feeling more positive and being grateful to GOD about everything,I noticed some great improvement.I walk,I run,I am doing great.I am studying and work full time.Other than my family and close friends, I do not mention that I have MS.

@farerse Although MS often effects white women in their mid 30's anyone can get it from young or old male or female black or white. Because of the stereo type of being a "white female disease" it took 8 years for doctors to finally admit that I a Native American could have MS. Much damage was done because of the lenth of time going untreated

3. I am no longer superman, this kryptonite has taken away my ability to be invincible, hence I have developed a greater appreciation of people around me.
4. MS has brought more laughter into my life. I don't sweat the small stuff.

i am a 23 & a male (pro) ballet dancer who last year was diagnosed with MS. I was scared at first of loosing most hobbies (guitar, backpacking, etc) not to mention I danced since age 61/2.
Since i discovered i can still dance i feel a refreshment of joy for dance, i ride my bike every day and plan to at least ride in the MS 150 events to come. MS has made me realize how damn lucky I still am. Every day above ground is a good one. Hopefully i can do the ride the US for MS one day and help out

Not all of us can feel the same way. That's the thing about this disease it hits us all with different things at different times. We are all very unique. Going through a relapse is like going through hell. While a remission can be a up lifting experience. MS is a disease with many highs and many lows. I can see your point and it's great that you have the attitude that you have. Your attitude alone might have a lot to do with how well you are doing. I can only hope to do as well.
im not jumping for joy i get closer to god ive had to say what i feel not what i think ive had to become much more calm i dont have the energy for conflict ive dropped people who arent good for me ive decided im important i can do my music and my art now i dont work but it's still shit for sure thanks for helping by asking the question m*
First off, I enjoyed this honest video. I am not jumping for joy either, but I have to say I would not change what has happened as I believe it is part of my path of learning. My speed of learning of life and appreciating things as simple as the sky, have increased since getting MS. I appreciate people and take time to listen and understand them. I have met the most incredible people who I would have never met if I didn't have MS.
For me 1 year before I got MS, God gave me a yearning to know Him.Things were happening in my life that made me start my desire for Him.I call it "Preparation For a Storm" God built me up.. If I didnt know God the way that I do, I dont know where I would be. In 2 Corith it talks about Paul and the thorn in his side. He asked God to take it away 3 times but it wasnt removed. But God knows what He's doing. He says my grace is sufficient in your weakness. He is the reason I can cope w/this.God Bless u
Its an ugly reality check, MS. Mostly just an annoying detour/new shitty path you have to take in life. Very hard to think of anything positive about it. However, I´m sure there are things, I just dont see them. Yet. Of course things could be SO MUCH WORSE, I´m thankful for every day. If there is a God, HE gets my thank yous. And occasional F yous too. Nothing GREAT about this. But I do like you-all´s attitudes. Keep posting your vids, hmack, kinda nice to see somebody more upbeat than me!
I totally hear you. For me my positives are: overwhelming support from family and friends (we had meals given to us for 5 weeks after I was diagnosed!) A deeper understanding of suffering and ability to connect with others who experience difficult health issues. I've met new people who have become close friends. I am looking after myself better, body, mind & spirit. Above all I have been able to prioritise what is important; God, family, friends and put the energy I do have into those things.
Hello, My name is Lisa and I was just diagnosed on this Tuesday and you can imagine that my mind is in the clouds. I may be in denial a little and trying to keep a positive outlook. I thank you for posting this video and I wish you great health. My doctor recommened Betasaren and I am not sure if this is a good medicine or not. What are you currently taken? Thanks! Lisa
Hey Lisa, I know what you're feeling right now. But know everythings gonna be alright:) I'm not sure about your specific meds but I took rebif for a while. I no longer take meds. I've been going all natural for the last 7 months and its been great
hmack, look into LDN (low dose naltrexone). It's probably as close to going natural as you can get, and for most folks stops MS progression in it's tracks. And for some starts a physical healing process. There's lots about LDN on YouTube.
I stay positive and stay strong, I swim three days a week at the local YMCA. I work out at home twice a week. I count my blessings every day that I can move. Not well, but I move. I have found that people are more than happy to offer me help when I look like I can use some. I have been told I am a insprition to others for staying positive. I keep a smile on my face and think hey this isn't so bad.
Stay well be strong this all happens for a reason. Smiles Bonnie
Hi -- I agree with you -- I posted you a video response but you have to approve it -- please do so -- thanks -- your video inspired and encouraged me to do mine!
Hi there, yes, I'm having a good day and can agree with you on all the points you've mentioned. Had MS 11 years, now in w/chair but am happy and adjusted. "I would have despaired if I'd not believed I'd see the blessing of the Lord in the land of the living" Psalm 27:13? blessings, Steve, Australia

However, I would very much like it to stop.
I am hoping that new research into the cardiovascular system will make this a reality.

Thanks for posing the question! Well done!
