  • Some but not all PlayStation textures looked better. Saturn had way better character models/sprites and better light sourcing. Both sprite and lightsourcing can be noticed around 5:30 when fighting the green dude. On the Saturn version he jumps around and his shots are lightsouced better. Saturn hardware allowed for streaming music from the disk at the sa time as data read, PS did not, which is why Saturn had the whole song, PS did not.

  • Oh, man, my brother and I had a blast playing this game on both systems. I kinda preferred using the PlayStation controller because of the way the buttons were laid out re: shooting and moving, though.

Now, if only Re-Loaded had been more like the original but four-player like Gauntlet...

  • The Saturn version didn't have nearly the slowdown issues of the ps1 version.

  • cap N hands was the bollox!!!

  • I miss Pop Will Eat Itself...

  • The Saturn Version has the full R.S.V.P. Theme Song.on PS1 its lasts 2 minutes and 4 seconds.

  • PSX wins, but Saturn port still looks nice. Lighting looks good enough, yo.

  • Loaded has some minor nostalgia for me despite the fact It was one of those games from the 90's that sold well only because it was incredibly violent & bloody. Despite the Saturn game obviously suffering the same problems most other PS1 to Sat ports had (lower fps, low res textures etc), Gremlin spent some of the year between releases addressing a few of the complaints about the PS1 version by fixing them for the Saturn release. Nothing huge mind but it's nice to know that they cared.

  • @therealbluedragon Did the Saturn version not have a 2 player mode?

  • @thepenguin55 It does but a 2nd controller needs to be plugged in for the option to even appear.

  • One of the few PS1 to Saturn ports were the coders even tried to recreate the lightning effects on the Saturn. It turned out pretty nice.

  • A classical lazy Saturn port. Terribly choppy FMVs, serious transparencies problems and lousy framerate. But wait... We get something extra;) Main character flickering, yummy.:D

  • @Majki182 No that's not flickering, that's just a bit of interlacing caused by me half arsing the editing. By the time I noticed it I'd already deleted the master files... sorry :(

  • @Majki182 unless you meant the flashing caused by the gun fire? if so that's was a deliberate design choice by the developers.
