heres the scoop; Kirk and James have both said that they play the intro riff differently sometimes i.e. mixing it up and playing it sometimes on the 5th and sometimes on the 6th strings

but thats unimportant, hes hitting the right notes at the right time, and it sounds good.

(and if we're nitpicking, he's playing james's part exactly the way he does on the album)
