i used to have the exact same thing but i had to sell it to buy a new muffler, and 2 new radiators, and a new seat. I miss that thing. But im going to buy another one soon whn i get the money. And i own a Bobcat 643 made in 1991. great machine
Ahh... the good old days.spent most of the 80's running a 743,709 hoe and a 811hoe on a 843. The only way to run a 811 is two preferably three functions at the same time,smooths her right out. Used to set 42" cb's with the 811.. full power...both hands on one stick...tires of the ground... yee haa..yup good times....not!!!
@kimchiman1000 the backhoe attachments dont have a seat that swivels like backhoes when you want to swivel to the rear of the machine to use the rear bucket
Sorry Carl. I missed this comment when you posted it.
I can't speak to whether I expect to feel feedback in the controls on every machine, but I will say that I prefer it if I can feel some feedback in the controls. On some machines, for example, if you hit a harder layer of material while you dig, not only do you feel a bit of feedback through the machine itself, but you can feel it in the control levers. I think it can give the operator a bit more fine control of the work.
I did not even know any of those still existed! Not very fun to run, real jerky and not smooth. Were the controls backhoe or excavator style. Put me on backhoe(John deere) Style controls and I'll look like a 3 year old!

@kimchiman1000 using a backhoe/loader is better than using a backhoe attachment on a skidsteer

@sanitaire800
I'm pretty sure most folks are aware of that fact. But since you commented thusly, did you want to tell us why you said that?

I had to run run a old bobcat for a friend the other day, with an old Davis 4stick backhoe attachment. It was a trip.
I still swear by mechanical controls in a regular backhoe loader though.

I also like the old mechanical controls. Even when they get loose and sloppy. Never had a problem with them.

In every machine, do you expect to feel a feedback when you move a lever? Thanks.

Its a backhoe pretty much all jerky when operating them.

I think Fast Trac is probably the only company in B.C. that uses one of those backhoe attachments LOL.

I'm looking forward to the day when these things no longer exist.
