from the guy i know for a fact i will be able to aforde the fuel due to a steady sorce of income and i have a lot of money stuck away for fuel too idk i mean its rust free and it just got brand new tires this summer so its set to go for a while and the maintness shouldnt be that big of an issue sept my buddy works on heavey equipment for a living so he said he could help me out if i need it and i know way around an engine somewhat well too lol
@MxRider710 i really want to i mean it would be a sweet first truck sept im turning 16 here in a few months idk ill find out after this comming weeks pay check if ill have enough to go buy it
Damn Ford has some skinny ass tires.no wonder why it didnt go up the hill...btw is the dodge a cummins...cuz when she was driving the dodge...i heard no cummind there
is it true that fords have bad turbo lag everyone at my school says there junk and calls them power chokes? can someone explain this to me is there anyway to fix this??? "turbo lag issue"???
@kawibbyrule All diesels have some turbo lag. Some are more noticeable then others. International tried to reduce the amount of turbo lag in the 6.0 by adding the VGT (EVRT if you want to call it that) The 7.3 (stock) has bad turbo lag, but the majority of 6.0's are not very noticeable.
@kawibbyrule Ha everyone at your school? Don't listen to a bunch of high school idiots who think they know what they are talking about lol. And they all have some lag. But I hardly notice it in my 6.0.
@MxRider710 well i know that but whatever im thinking about buying a 1997 F250 with a 6.0 only has 80 thousand miles on it andhe only wants 4500 is that a good deal are they good trucks i personaly love fords but im open to what other people have to say
@kawibbyrule 97 with a 6.0? 6.0's were only put in late model 03's till 07. If it's a 97 it should be a 7.3, not unless someone would have swapped it. Don't see the point in that. 7.3 is a badass motor too. And yeah if you treat them right they are amazing trucks and if its only got 80,000 thats nothing its not even broke in. But really they are all good and bad in their own ways. But I've had good luck with my powerstrokes.
@MxRider710 yeah i did some resertch and found that out then i asked the guy and he said long ago it had a 7.3 but he said it blew up or something like that and he swapped it out with the 6.0 so idk im thinking of buying it im only planning on using it to pull the dirt bikes around and small trailors for work
@kawibbyrule I have a 6.0. A lot of people say stay away from them they are nothing but problems. But that's just the emissions shit the 6.0 has. If you're gonna get it. Make sure it doesn't have the egr make sure it has been deleted. Thats the number one thing. It's pricey to get it deleted but I didnt my own work on mine. And make sure you don't hear the injectors knocking thats a big thing. And it's always good for the 6.0's to put fuel additives in on fill ups. And it will treat you good.
@kawibbyrule Egr is exhaust gas recirculation and its emission shit they put on the 6.0's and now newer diesels. But it is NOTORIOUS for failing. It can fail on powerstrokes at 10,000 miles or 70,000 miles. It's better if its deleted. Its actually better for it too be gone too. And powerstrokes you will know if the injector is knocking you hear it a mile away lol.
@MxRider710 oh alright well i asked the him about it and he said that it was deleted when they swapped the engine out and it was chipped so it get close to 20 miles to the gallon but he said the injectors and the glow plugs havent been change ever so should that be something i look into changing then?
@kawibbyrule Well if its also chipped you better hope he had it studded. Head studs are another big thing on these motors. They are pretty weak from the factory and any perfermance chip can just make them rise and snap. ARP head studs are the way to go. How many miles are on it? But if its not studded just dont go hard on it all the time. Doesn't mean drive it like a grandma 6.0's love to run like a bat out of hell and are pretty damn quick. And how many miles does it have?
@MxRider710 it only has 80 thousand miles on it idk i never knew that the head studs are weak ill have to ask him later tonight about that one but idk im sure if he put all that money into a engine swap he sprung for diffrent head bolts but i could be wrong ill check into that
@kawibbyrule Egr delete and ARP head studs are the most important things you can do too 6.0's after that they will treat you just fine. Just change oil every 5,000 miles and keep up on maintenance and it will last you a life time. Just treat it good. And my 04 has 88.5k on it. Injectors are still just fine and turbo is still fine. If it has a tuner it, you would be pretty dumb to not run head studs especially on 6.0's.Message me if you have other questions. I don't wanna blow up the comments lol
@kawibbyrule well at my truck at 88.5k my glow plugs are perfectly fine. however the ones on that trucks are probably just fine too. however for the heads your looking at about a $3,000 job if you take it to a freaking shop. Heads are only around $450 but you have to remove the cab on the truck and its just a nightmare. Only thing is not unless you haul 15,000 pounds everyday those stock heads should give you no problem at all. So are you gonna get this truck? Or haven't made up your mind yet?
Is the RAM a gas powered truck? My uncle owned a gas powered Ford F-250 once and it burned fuel like mad. Isn't it better worth it to go diesel in large trucks like 2500 and so. Then again trucks are much easier on fuel these days, still, I'm just curious.
is it not scary sliding sideways? i had my truck on a muddy hill i got half way and back end cought a rut kicked sideways then began sliding i was going to shit myself lol
@mitchie4231 the truck with all the power managed to some how change the gravititional pull of the earth and advance its self a year in to the future lol jk
@d0750588 cold weather? Any diesel would do that i supose
