I am Lynne Miller near Akron Ohio. Not like this is a secret or anything. Google me. I posted on Hobby Talk, including some pictures. The shuttle is in fairly good condition. I have paid to store it and restore it for 23 years. This video shows myself retrieving it from Palm Springs. We moved it to Akron, Ohio where it has been since then. I am planning to sell or auction it off in the next couple of months. Email me at thegalileo7sale@yahoo.com with any questions.
Do have this item? OR know the party that has it? Been to the Hobby Talk website. The person on Hobby Talk will not respone to my questions. I sense it may be a scam.
This shuttlecraft could have been saved maybe years ago, in the 70's. But now there is so much damage and weatherized damage that it would be like building a new prop from the ground up - so if you want a shuttlecraft Galileo 7 just get out your wallet.
The shuttle is not destroyed. This is a picture of it in Palm Springs circa 1989. It is currently near Akron Ohio. How do I know this? Because I am the owner. We have spent over $100,00 over the years to store and restore this thing. Anyone that I hired let me down and each time I got something accomplished it was ruined by incompentent people I hired. The craft was last ruined by a contractor who left it in the rain. I am putting it up for sale soon. If you are concerned buy it.
I have a pic of this craft rotting on the Paramount lot all full of rust and the rear impulse vent region collapsed like it was shown here. I would pay top dollar to see this in The Smithsonian.
Yes it should be in a museum but hopefully its in caring hands. But there is hope. A little google search reveals that apparently this shuttlecraft is intact and in private hands and quite possibly fully restored. It was last seen in Ohio 2005. Hopefully someone has seen it since then and can state it's current condition.
@radioflyer68911 It may not be " The Spirit Of St Louis " but... should still be in a museum or perhaps the Smithsonian. A part of American history, really....
I remember years ago going to a LaGrange Con in Cleveland and buying a T-shirt to help with the restoration of it. They were even on stage talking about how hard a project it was to restore and pay for it.
I am familiar with James Cawleys work. Phase Two (or Star Trek the New Voyages) is incredibly well done. Once you get over the fact that Kirk is not Shatner and Spock is not Nimoy, the story lines are excellent, the acting is good also. Some of the stories are older stories written in the 70's in books or for TV treatments. Highly recommended by a die hard ST fan.
Sadly there's no word of a life size replica of the old Galiileo 7 currently in existance but an excellent approximation of the original interior mockup was built for "Starship Farragut (see on Youtube) A Rock And A Hard Place".
Funny that it is always referred to as "Galileo 7". It was in fact shuttle number 7 with the "7" added to the Enterprise's hull number. However the title of the episode "The Galieo Seven" referred to the seven member crew. It was an homage to the title of a movie, (which I can't recall right now) with a similar plot about a lost vessel and how the crew interacted and pulled together to survive.
@spinmans4 What you saw was a fan film made by a diehard Star Trek fan named James Cawley. He has colecteded props and costumes, ( some he made himself) for years. He has made, with the help of other fans, is a full size enterprise bridge. (Among other things). the website Is "Star Trek, Phase 2. Check it out. It's amazing what he has done.By the way, it's more than 1 film.
sad that it was destroyed when it was left in another yard near a factory and the owner did not pay to move it as she was unreachable at the time. It was 90% restored and then sat for years under a tarp on this other property, All this hard work gone....sad. Several in the prop collecting community would have finished it.
@blunite545 I've been doing a little poking around on the net and from what I've read it has not been destroyed. It is in a warehouse covered with tarps. It seems someone broke in and stole parts of it. So it's still mostly there except for the missing parts. Restroration will continue at some later undetermined date since the restorers are paying for it out of their own pocket. Meanwhile it's indoors away from the ravages of nature.
@athompson7 I am not a troll just a concerned fan who knows some of the facts about this prop that was stored here in Akron, ohio for a time.
It was stored for a time at a sandblasting company and when they could not get in touch with the owner of the prop they had it junked. The owner told several of us the wood had rotted and it was a pile of junk wood and metal.
@Mobius303 I don't know what to think because the owner has left a comment here on this thread recently saying that it's 90% restored and is for sale.
@firetecone I've done some poking around the web - best I could make out was that it was first purchased off the Paramount lot in the 80's - 80-90% restored from 1991-92 (As shown in this video) and then... it ended up being stored at a sand blasting facility - OUTDOORS. The shuttle owner who contracted with the facility dissappeared. Eventually the company went belly-up - the property was sold and all things on-site (Including the Shuttle Craft) were cleaned up and scrapped...so sad
Where on hobby talk? Thats a big website.

Man, some homeless guy could have lived in that thing for 30 years. I wonder what they did with the mock ups from the films and the later TV series.

How much is the REAL owner asking for the galileo 7?
I need to know...This is NOT a joke!
I'm asking a simple question all I need is a simple answer please.
LifeWithStarTrek 3 months ago
How much are you asking for the galileo 7 ? I need to know a price range.
I need to know honestly the damaged and how much is left of the
galileo ? Do you have a parts list....
I will have to check with a freight company on shipping.
I also need to see Galileo 7 up-close to decide what a fair price would be.
You want to talk?
