@Tyco200 It really depends on how powerful the IED is. The armor of an Abrams is coated with deleted Uranium which is denser than lead. That is very difficult for even a explosion to penetrate.

@waldemar31293, sorry I didn't knew that the M1 Arbams could fly, it didn't get shoot down sense it was never up in the air, not one M1 Abram has been destroyed in combat, there's been some damage and needed repair, but there was never a Abram completly destroyed before. Hell the Army tried to destroy it's own damage Abram which was stuck in Enemy territory from the risk being captured by the Iraqi's, they used explosives and it did destroy it either. F-15 hasn't been lost in combat ever.

@TheFalconryFan lol USA takes parts from a damage abrams n rebuild berfrom spare parts give it the same number n call it a day.taken out of combat yes heavy damage yes but not beyond repair. that counts as never destroyed n i think there was a lost of like less then 10 crew from inside the tank
