  • It's a little careful for my taste. I prefer Victor Tretchakov... hard to find recordings of him these days, though.

  • I was not even born and he had gained a concuros this size ... congratulations

  • Ayer tuve el placer de tocar con el maestro Kaler. I play at the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires. Kaler tocó "La Campanella" by Paganini, he was incredible, such a wonderfull musician!!!...

  • Simply Marvelous!!!!!

    What a great artist!!

  • Remarkably talented...lovely, lovely music

  • How old was Kaler here?

  • Yes, I like the 5:15-:30, so beautiful!

  • Yes, I like 5:23 very much.

  • me, too

  • 5:23 Like Being in heaven...!

  • i would kill for technique like his

  • its no fair how long his fingers are!! he makes the double stops look effortless!! jealous!! I'm learning this one though and I'm absolutely in LOVE with it :)

  • Very good musicians but the conductor, don't understand how the orchestra can follow him.

  • Very good violinist but the master of sibelius is KAVAKOS,the best performance!!!

  • listen to Ferras'...

  • no.... mintz

  • Fantástico..!!!

  • Fabulous violinist! I wish we would hear more from him! Really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing..he's one of my absolute favorites!

  • dear 3474312, if you didnt hear this concerto more clean then this, i recomend you to listen to Sergey Khachatryan, he is the GOD of this concerto, it was composed for him)))))))))

  • sergey's recording is good, i remember it. he has a very personal style

  • I love the hair, its like hes been watching beavis and butthead or something.... great player, yes its surprising hes not more well known.

  • He plays it SOOOO clearly. Never heard anybody plays Sibelius this clear.

  • i could not agree more. his third movement is amazingly clean on the thirds

  • @3474312 listen to Kavakos then... ;)

  • @crazy77town and ?

  • @crazy77town maybe very clear, but kavakos is quite an uninteresting musician. just my opinion.

  • @3474312

    ann-sophie mutter

  • Does anyone happen to know what violin he plays here? It sounds so GOOD and beautiful! I really enjoy this performance which does not sound so rushing! Exceptional talent! Love it !!!!!!

  • Absolute genius - I cant believe he isnt more famous as a violinist...

Not quite Heifitz but certainly better than Perlman and others.

  • Better than Perlman and others? Are you stupid?

  • totally agree with you....he has the great power to go inside music, listen to Ysaye from him, just amazing! i think it's time to stop thinking that the Oistrach,Stern,Szering,Heifetz etc. will be the best forever...

  • This guy is the only one that has won the gold medals at the three most important violin competitions: the Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, and Paganini International competitions. He's not as commercial as Perlman, but he's the best. Period!!

  • go buy his cd of the ysaye sonatas... his vibrato is really sweet. he teaches at depaul in chicago right now

  • and he's not close mic'd... typical non engineering comment there AbsoluteZ3r0

  • He has great intonation and technique. He kind of slips a little on the trill section with the quarters. The slower section always amazes me when I hear it. I wish he played this a little more lively though.

  • definitely not my favorite interpretation of the sibelius, but still very good, and i can't believe i've never heard of this guy before.

  • Sibelius was an awesome composer, I wish I was alive 70 years ago.

  • almost exactly how i interpreted it, i love it!

  • amazing

  • This is really good but in my opinion the interpretation is a little too gentle, and not fast enough

  • Agreed, unfortunately, he is of course technically capable of playing it that way.

  • I think its the energy of it is lost when it is so fast as some people play it. I like his tempos on this piece very much. reminds me of Szeryng

  • true.....but we should respect this guy for being able to play the whole movement without some false tone....lol
