That really depends on which Hakka you speak. There are regional variation to the Hakka - with a big difference between Taiwanese Hakka and Hong Kong Hakka. Hong Kong Hakka can be understood by Cantonese speakers over time and a little patience (I managed to teach one of my friends how to understand, not speak, it in a year and a bit.
They are very similar but a speaker would be able to tell the difference between the two. In England, it would be like comparing, say, a Scottish accent with a Yorkshire accent. Or American accent with an English one if you are not familiar with the UK.

Guangdong GDP is the now d BIGGEST of all province in China. Three times bigger than Beijing. Three times bigger than Hebei. Cantonese are always the successful & rich, wealthy and smart. Hakka songs in Taiwan majority like over 90% opied d melody & even lyrics from Taiwanese sogs & Mandarin. Who listen to Hakka songs in Taiwan. Hakka TV can't even survive without d Taiwanese (Hoklo) Gov budget, cos no one watch there4 no one advertise. Hakka Museums sets up but visited by mosquitoes cos even on Free entrance, no one visits. How many % of Hakka ppls speaks Hakka as mother-tongue in Taiwan. Less that 20%. Most assimilated into Mandarin or Taiwanese (Taiyu).

Hakka in Hong Kong assimilated into Cantonese. In Taiwan, they assimilated into Taiwanese (Minnan). In Singapore they assimilated into Hokkien. In Malaysia, Hakkas assimilated into the mainstream Cantonese or Hokkien. In Guangdong, they assimilated into Mandarin & Cantonese.

hakka should develop original song numbers, which original melody n lyrics. Singing others songs make it sound like shit!
At least Mandarin, Cantonese & Taiwanese songs have 80%-90% original numbers to show. That is why they are popular even in foreign countries like Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia & Thailand etc.
But 99% of Hakka songs is copied, so damn low quality, n low class! When listen feel wanna vomit!!

Does anyone know if this song is from Taiwan or from Southeast Asia? I know Kepala is Indonesian for "hat". I know Taiwanese Hakka live in Hsinchu, Chungli, Miaoli, Meinung, and Taitung in Taiwan.

'Kepala' is Malay for 'head'. In this context, 'kepala' is normally refered to a foreman in charge of a group of construction workers. I believe the singer is Cheong Siew Lam (Zhang Shao Lin) from Malaysia.

I'm hakka and none of my cantonese friends understand a word of hakka. Luckily for me I can speak Cantonese fluently too. The type of hakka in this song is known as 'Moyen' hakka, a little more harsh sounding than the hakka spoken in the NT in HK. Being an english hakka is so cool. Hakka gnin hair tzee gar gnin!

Hakka language is close to Cantonese. I think if Hakka is spoken slowly, a Cantonese speaker can understand 50% of the words. Am I right?

That really depends on which Hakka you speak. There are regional variation to the Hakka - with a big difference between Taiwanese Hakka and Hong Kong Hakka. Hong Kong Hakka can be understood by Cantonese speakers over time and a little patience (I managed to teach one of my friends how to understand, not speak, it in a year and a bit.

They are very similar but a speaker would be able to tell the difference between the two. In England, it would be like comparing, say, a Scottish accent with a Yorkshire accent. Or American accent with an English one if you are not familiar with the UK.
