There are caged roller sets, which are reccomended because the won't rattle around in the higer revving area(and running hot/jam) i don't know if this is a real threat, but maybe it's an easy upgrade?
Hi , Yes i've used these caged small end roller's since 1985 , first in my 634 and found them good , But now and again in the 638's i've built one will fit and the other will be tight , there are oversize loose roller's that are fitted maybe due to bad tolerence's in small end bush ? not sure . So in some cases i put back what i took out in exactly the correct order , i've never had problem's with over heating small end's but you may get this problem if oil/petrol mix is wrong . Terry
@enfielddnepr Hi Yes of course :-) If they are worn on this model you can buy caged roller's , but you have to get right over size piston pins , they come as 16mm 16.25mm 16.5mm and so on till 17mm . Or fit new conrod kit's . But if these loose roller's are servicable there's no reason not to put them back . Thank's for your comment . Terry
@terence20001 yesss.. caged roller's is what i used after hours of trying refitting the needles ;] you should see my happiness when the guy at the shop told me that such thing exists! ;] that was years ago - when i was 17 or so, but i've learned my lesson the hard way... cheers!
Hi , Same thing happened to me , it was 1985 i was about 24 at the time . I'de taken cylinder's off so next was what i thought was the easy part :-) but i did'nt know at the time the small end had loose roller's . Like you i was very happy to know they could be replaced with caged type . All the best Terry
i've read in the manual about aligning the twin crankahft with a cupper hammer.. how can a crankshaft, which has to cope with a lot of power, be re-shaped with a small hammer??
@enfielddnepr Hi , Whenever i change conrod kit's or the centre main's on these crank's . I have it done by a speicialist . I could'nt tell you if they use copper mallet's . I'de like to think they were tighter than that . Cheer's Terry
@jamsidedown59 Hi John . Thank's . I must admit this is my favorite tool for the Jawa engine . I learned the hard way :-) in about 1985 with my first Jawa . I ended up with loose roller's down the crank case , just about every where . I've never forgotten the experience , my heart droped to the bottom of my stomach :-) Thank's john , im realy pleased with the way it's developed . and it does make the job easy . All the best to you . Terry
@PixelKlaus Im pleased you like this tool . It is one of my favorites . 25 year's ago i wen't to do what i thought was a simple task . I removed the piston off my Jawa ,and the loose rollers wen't every where . I had to strip the whole engine . It was this experience that made me develop this tool . . All the best . Terry
@PixelKlaus Hi Klaus . I don't use high temp greece with this application ,as the greece just serves to keep the loose rollers together during removal . Once the engine is running they will automaticly be lubed with the two stroke oil . Thank's for this question , it's a good point . Cheer's Terry
Thanks my brother for sharing this video with us in the states peace be with you and and your family TG out for now thanks again for showing us how you rebuild engine
always learning something new from you terry... wish I had the mechanical skils, but I guess that comes with years of practice. By the way... I found out I need a shed to. My neighbours are starting to get annoyed from the cutting and grinding in my comunal small garage. !!! lol. Cheer's. João
@Vizcaio Hi . Im pleased you get somthing from my vid's . And i tend to have the same trouble with neighbers somtimes when im grinding e.t.c. So i now how you feel . Cheer's Terry
@Bill1960D Hi Yes i agree they are a large and heavy crank on the Jawa C.Z. 's I've got a Jawa 250 single cylinder aswell and the crank is evan bigger . I think it help's with the torqe . Cheer's Terry

And, don't you need to REPLACE the needles and outer bush when they are worn? you set the same ones back!
