I never played it when I had a PS1, I hardly knew it existed. I even thought it was another part of the Soul Edge / Blade / Calibur franchise.

Oh God. I have not put it down since. The art, the spectral / physical realm mechanic, the combat, the story, the voice acting, the music!

@Edge73100 Thats the best thing about it, isn't it? TWO main characters, not just one. And 2 amazing stories that tie into each other, which spans thousands of years... It's just amazing. And one of the coolest things is you can love Raziel and hate Kain or vice versa, and the story and everything is still epic and amazing.

Who plays all games will react like this: In Blood Omen they will love Kain, in Soul Reaver they will completely hate him, in Soul Reaver 2 they will stop hating him, but Raziel will still be favourite, but in Defiance, fans will absolutely love both of them, and many will admire Raziel for something Kain refused to do: Sacrificing himself.

That is the single-most best thing about this whole story, and we both know it! :D I love them both like you do, I just fell more in love Raziel and his character than I did with Kain. I still admire Kain though, because he is doing what he must do for good, no matter what he must sacrifice. He sacrificed his entire Kingdom and his highest bloods, in order to create the only true free being in existence, totally unbound by fate... which is of course, Raziel in Soul Reaver.

@SuperVasco117 True :) But still, we cant forget that Kain refused his own sacrifice but in doing that, he saved Nogoth in a way it couldnt have been saved if he sacrificed himself to restore balance. I feel exactly like you, I like them both very much, but Kain is just my favourite :-)

Kain took a big risk in creating Raziel. Moebius and the Edler God manipulated Raziel to hunt Kain down, but Kain knew what he had to do and fortunately, Raziel made the right choices :-)

I would only make real humans play roles when there are humans shown, and maybe the pre-devolved vampires (Dunno about Vorador though...). Other than that, do CG on the level of Avatar with the voice of the original cast, with the original story, and i would be happy. And of course some of the original soundtrack at certain points, like this one :)
