This is a wonderful performance by PL, but I think the arrangement and performance of this very same song with Gladys Knight and Dionne Warwick way back when in "Sisters In The Name of Love" is my fave. Patti Labelle is more than just a singer... she is a priestess who can touch anyone's heart when she lets music come out of her mouth. I truly believe her voice is guided by the Almighty. I am not talking about religion, I am talking about faith. Patti is a woman with a strong faith and this song is about hope; is about not losing our faith... so she is the right person to sing it. I saw this whole permance on pbs on the origional air date. I don't know why pbs never released this on cd/dvd like during there pledge drive, because if they did, they would EXCEED their goals. Anyway, I agree with you to a point. I do believe Patti has Faith and a gift. My opinion.. Her voice is ANNOINTED and I believe as she uses this gift for it's intended purpose, many souls would be healed and comforted...
