Had wifi drop out issue. Went to a forum/blog.Belkin routers were mentioned as not being compliant with this device. I have a belkin router, ,so I went to a friend's house who has a netgear router and didn't get any dropped wifi..

I stumbled and bought an Archos 43.I wanted HDMI connection to my TV .Your Galaxy cant be connected to tv but yes its looks like a better overall media player.I didnt have wi fi issues with my Archos 43 which is cheaper than your Galaxy and it plays YOU Tube pretty well as well.In the future I may go for the Galaxy

I just bought a samsung galaxy player 4.0! No need to deal with itunes, no need to convert files! I can upgrade my memory up to 32gb without spending more than I have to. I can get music from two or more different computers without losing music from the other! The screen is colorfully vibrant! I can use the android market! I can use the gps without wifi! i can use google! I have flash! I don't have to look at a screen that is smaller than 4"! I have SAMSUNG!

@RasAhmose i purchased the 5.0 on cyber monday. i sort of wish i could use both mini sd cards and memory on the player. the sd card needs to stay in permanently.

i have 2 weeks to try this thing out. i like it.

even though you say the screen quality is better on the 4.0 the 5.0 is cool too.

@acestarone oh no i was wrong. i was able to transfer the music and pictures on my micro sd card to the my files section on my sgp 5.0.

@acestarone There's a few hardware differences, the 5" one has a camera flash, the MicroSD card slot is in a different location, etc.

You really should do a head on ipod touch 4 comparison. Ive avoided Apple for as long as i could, but everytime i try something, it simply doesnt match up. This is the last hope before ill have to just pickup an ipod.

@b22chris theres nothing wrong with the device itself its your wifi network. Ive been using the device for about a month and havent encountered any problems connecting to a wifi network. Check if your wifi network is WEP if it is that will most likely be the reason why the device is having a hard time connecting to the network.

@metroidM1A1 The wifi im using is WPA/WPA2. The device cant connect to adhoc wifi. Adhoc wifi comes from different OS like IOS. I used a Iphone and tried tethering the wifi to the device and it doesnt work.

I'm thinking about getting this device for its larger screen, but do you know if it's capable of being played through the car speakers if the car doesn't have aux in? I rarely listen to the radio now since I always hook up my iTouch.

@19Interpol91 it should yes, this device is compatible with stereo bluetooth so if your car has bluetooth you can do it that way, or you can plug it into the usb. if your car has a hook up that is only for the pin conector of ipods then no if will not. but if your using usb it should.

Could you try streaming some videos from Youtube, Hulu, Justin, etc. and see how it hangs in there? I'm hoping it's wifi reception is better than it's bars are showing. It's one of the main ways I'd be using this device - for sure.

@mikee286 i live in a mansion, probably two football fields away, lol jk im not sure why it is so low because my iphone gets full bars in the exact same location so idk if the antenna on it isnt that good or what, could also be a problem with firmware not reading it correctly

@b22chris Mine doesn't have good reception. On my old Asus Transformer tablet I had gotten 4 or max bars but for this one at the same distance it's often 2-4.
