Thanks, I got it going by chucking a 1 inch Aluminum bar in the lathe and running real slow, I pressed the flint wheel against the turning bar and got sparks:-)

It shouldn't be so amazing to you Cutlery. It is a simple case of 101 physics. You cannot hit an object any harder than the inertia of the object itself will allow. Only by significantly increasing the velocity and decreasing the the surface area of the projectile will you gain more potential penetration. The 9 mm Parabellum round in FMJ form, with a +P 124 grain bullet would more than likely penetrate much better than the .45 ACP would. Get it a shot, no pun intended. ;)
