  • It's time to kick this WHORE out of the Republican Party.

  • @djm9063 why? because she's willing to work with a president not of her party and wants to just move Forward instead of constant arguing. If Obama isn't reelected and we get a Republican president they'll do the same thing you want the Republicans to do... i like it when people can just work together to move the country forward I'm a Democrat don't get me wrong but it works a lot better when people work together. So i admire Olympia Snowe for willing to work with President Obama.

  • This Republican fool supports S. 773 "The Cybersecurity Act" GTFO!

  • She's dating Nick Jonas now, in case anybody cares. Now that's a power couple. When I saw that on NPR, I turned to my own pretend girlfriend, Spider-Man 3 star Kirsten Dunst, and said, "Wow, Kirsten, your father who works in the medical industry must really be surprised by this turn of events." And Kirsten said, "Yeah baby you got that right. You should say more things like that." So after that we were having sex and I said, "Kirsten, say, 'I'm Olympia Snowe' while we get it on!" And she did!

  • Wow,the democrats get one vote from a so called "republican" and they become like a pack of hyena's.They are smelling fresh meat now.

  • After this traitorous whore's decision went public today, I printed her picture, tossed it in the urinal at work, pissed on it, and left it there for others to piss on all afternoon.

Must have been pretty ratty by day's end - which is pretty much how this pig looks anyway.

  • God Bless Olympia Snowe.

Great to see a moderate, level-headed Republican.

She's from a liberal state. What do you expect. Republicans from that state tend to be more moderate than a Republican from say, Mississippi.

    Signed,

    A Liberal-Progressive

  • Maine is hardly a liberal state. It is a very moderate state. One of its congresspeople is a pro-life Democrat who has consistently beat pro-choice Republicans. Maine's Democratic Party is more conservative both socially and fiscally than the national party, and its Republican Party is more liberal socially and is also more libertarian in platform.

  • How could it be "moderate" if it has been consistently blue for a long time, and the entire New England region has increased in Democratic membership. Even New Hampshire, the most conservative New England state, has pushed further to the left.

Republicans have pretty much lost the northeast.

  • @DiverseLA Democrats from southern states or nothern "purple" districts tend to be moderate too

  • @xaviqaz Okay.

  • I think Olympia Snowe thinks that her party has changed more than it has. It has always been a more fiscally conservative and national party than the Democratic Party.

  • So after Bush's massive spending and increase of the debt/deficit, compared to Clinton's massive cuts on spending and subsequent budget surplus, you're saying the Republicans have always been fiscally conservative?

  • I said they have always been a more fiscally conservative party, meaning the Republican party has been more concerned about spending in general. I am one of the first Republicans to say that spending under the Bush administration was out of control, however you must not discount that Bush took office and left office with recessions, severe Hurricanes occured, and 2 wars as a result of terrorist attacks.

  • The Iraq War was completely avoidable -- don't try to cloud it up and pretend Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. This was a war of opportunity taken on by Dick Cheney who took advantage of the post-9/11 climate in order to invade Iraq.

So, I agree that any President would've took military action in Afghanistan following 9/11. But Al Gore would've never invaded Iraq. That was purely a neoconservative agenda.

  • I am very impressed with Olympia Snowe. I just wish more Senators were like her in their approach - informed, principled, responsible. Many Repubilicans seem especially recently to placing politcs, rhetoric and winning at any cost, way above having reasoned informed debate. I am a life long Democrat, but have deep respect for Senator Snowe.

  • 769 views 6 comments.. how the fuck is this featured nice job again screwing over everyone youtube!

  • Maybe they go by the video itself and not how many comments/views.

  • Okay. So, I LOVE Obama but, I have to admit, Olympia Snowe is AWESOME, TOO!

  • Realistic? LMAO Obama? LOL Moderate? LOL

  • She is a very fine example of how Senators should act. Everyone has their own "ideals" but politics is not about fulfilling your self pride or self ambition, it is about making sure that your constituencies are best served and Republicans have been making a lot of wrong moves, just as the liberal Democrats. I hope people will start coming together and craft out the right bill. Take some time and stop the partisan bickering.

  • What an impressive person she is. If all Republicans were as well informed, sensible, and prudent as Olympia Snowe, I would definitely switch parties and be a Republican. As it is, though, she's a bright light in a party of dim bulbs.

This interview is American democracy at its best: a smart, well-informed legislator being intervewed by an equally smart and capable journalist.

  • Olympia Snowe is the best. Straight up, honest, and not driven by political sparring. Obama is will do whats best and it is a shame too many Republican Senators cannot be like Snowe and actually be Senators that negotiate for a good bill. Healthcare reform is needed

  • she is a brilliant example of how a senator should act: first being responsible to her own beliefs and to the people, and second to the party. an example surely to look up at.
