@kenrg Gene has a book that tells how all the movie stars died and in fact whenever we watch a old movie he is inclined to tell me the story so after all these years I must admit I find the subject interesting as in curious. So Gene just told me another one! lol Tom Mix an old western star died a strange death. Mix was driving north from Tucson in his beloved bright-yellow Cord Phaeton sports car.
Respond to this video...He was driving so fast that he didn't notice--or failed to heed--signs warning that one of the bridges was out on the road ahead. The Phaeton swung into a gully and Mix was smacked in the back of the head by one of the heavy aluminum suitcases he was carrying in the convertible's backseat. The impact broke the actor's neck and he died almost instantly.
I hope Portland is more safe these days. You have a gift for documentary videography. I suspect some of your vids are embedded in travel logue sites. Excellent coverage.
@OhCurt Hey, it's a hobby. Some people garden, others make Excel files of the contents of their two filing cabinets full of local murder stories. It's what makes the world go round.
What a great video. I loved how the occupant of the bomb death house spoke to you from the window. I'm not so certain I'd share his optimistic view on living there though. Take care!~Marilyn
@Moonchimes His explanation reminded me of a scene from the World According to Garp, where they're looking at buying a house and single engine plane flies into it, convincing Garp to purchase the house because what are the odds of it happening again? (actually, it's the only scene in the movie which didn't come from the book).
Great video. I love to hear these stories and mr. Chandler could be a brother of you, almost haha. Same beard. Nice that you got the current owner's reaction there at the end.
@EdEditz The funniest thing about the owner of the bomb house talking to us, was that at one of the previous sites we asked him if he's had any interaction with current residents, and he said that he hadn't ever talked to any. Then this guy stuck his head out the window and had a great story to tell!
Mr. Chandler and Gene could sit for hours and talk I bet!

Holy Excel Projects!
Good luck to him... those kinds of endeavors make my corneas explode (much like that poor woman's trunk).
Enjoyed this. And the home owner commentary was nice "seasoning."

A very positive take on crime scenes, and hey, a happy ending! If only the US economy works out that nicely . . .

@not2tees Well, with the economy the way it is, we have find optimism where we can ... even in murder scenes ;^)
