  • I have a pile of USB powered hard drives, this was the only one with rubber feet and the only one that vibrates. Tech support said the vibration was normal, but all my other drives didn't vibrate, cause they lay flat on the desk.

I just personally did not like the vibrating, if you have one of these drives you will know what I am talking about. I removed the feet and the vibration went away.

  • Thanks for the information. Let me ask, is there a harm done when its vibrating? or it only bothers you?

  • Vibration on an electronic device that has a spinning disk inside it.....no way!

  • @Resistoon I have other USB hard drives, they don't vibrate, cause they lay flat on the table, no rubber feet. Once the rubber feet were removed from the HDD, the vibrating stopped.

  • I have the 300 GB version and I had the same problem. I had for a few months but then this week it started to have noticeable vibration. I can't believe that turning it upside down was all it took to fix it. Thanks for the tip.
