I have a small feeling that Baruto didn't go 101% for this, it is as if he wanted to please both sides of the fans and just let Hakuho beat him anyway while he got the championship.

Baruto is getting cocky.. He used to bow deep and respectfully after each loss.Now is just a nod of the head. Pride comes before a downfall !!

Baruto only need to win next tournament or to have two times 13 wins or more.and he becomes yokozuna for ever.to beat Hakuho he can later if he really needs.

Thanks arabia! If Baruto can consistently beat lower ranks he can be a second Yokozuna , he has superior body and agility. He has to master some wrestling techniques to better himself. It is possible for him to become Yokozuna in japanese sumo. It is a pushing contest after all.

I`m glad that Baruto get the championship but as long as Baruto cannot beat Hakuho,

I have mixed feelings on this bout. I'm a fan of both. I'm happy for Baruto winning this tournament and I would have liked for him to go 15-0 but at the same time I'm glad Hakuho dug deep and didn't let some speedbumps screw up his game. I think a lot went on this time and some rikishi will have to answer for some of their tactics in this basho (or is it honbasho, help me out pukulu!).

This basho Hakuho lacked simple luck. Plus Baruto won Kisenosato with henka and Harumafuji won yokozuna unfairly.

@MrUtuuchu it wasn't an unfair win. Henkas may be looked down on but they're legal. I'm not endorsing it but Hakuho should, as Yokozuna, been prepared. Also, you're the only one being grossly disprespectful on this page. Araibira goes to a LOT of trouble to give us these clips, show some respect. You may not agree with everyone but behave like an adult. None of us appreciates your ridiculous commentary on your opinion. You don't like Baruto, cool. Baruto starts the bout with a nodo-wa attack, something that has worked well for him several times this basho, but it does nothing against Hakuho who brushes aside Baruto's arms, secures a superior belt grip and maneuvers the bigger rikishi off the dohyo. So Hakuho ends at 12-3 securing a tie for the jun-yusho with Gagamaru. Baruto ends at 14-1. I'll be estimating the March banzuke for the top 2 divisions within a day or 2.
