  • Do sts turbo kits have any more lag then a normal turbo mounted in the engine bay?

  • How about actually running the strip with them? If people wanted turbo sound they'd buy 30 dollar turbo mufflers not 6 grand twin turbos.

  • 1:18 sounds so sick.... oh and well said jesse8t

  • jeffzahnd....dont ever compare a corvette to a civic ever again...civics are junk!

  • @jesse8t civics arent junk, how many cars do you know that can quadruple their horsepower, ive seen 800+hp civcs, especially out of inline 4 engines but never 1600+hp corvettes, even though they have v8s i respect civics but most of them are shit.

  • @AnTHoNyB1125 even at 800 horse the civic is just gonna implode on itself after 5000 miles. At least a vette could handle 800 horse.

  • @dropkick1337 i've seen tons over civics that never "imploded" on themselves, there are things called supporting mods that you do to a car after you put in a huge turbo so that doesn't happen

  • @jesse8t my point was for those that don't understand that 5 pounds of boost in a 90mm throttle body isn't the same as a civics 30mm or wtf ever the size is .

  • ALSO, those STS turbos are rear-mounted, at low boost they dont even require a large BOV because of the long tubes the air can be compressed easily because it has more displacement. It can charge itself and discharge when the throttle opens

  • y2001c5 that isnt true, the more BOV noise you hear the more boost there is because you dont hear the BOV for as long as the engine is using that boost, when the engine is NOT using boost the BOV lets out the boosted air pressure so therefore more boost coming out of the BOV and it makes more noise. What you say makes sense only if the BOV is active WHILE the engine gobbles up the boosted air. More BOV sound = More Boost

  • Further into this, it sounds like y2001c5 is confusing the wastegate with the BOV. Boost never goes through the BOV, and if it does, you've got yourself a boost leak. As T2DMF9000 explained, the BOV will only past a predetermined vacuum level.

With a small turbo, you wont get that high-pitched scream like you often hear from Supras with massive single T88. At higher boost, you will hear more of the whistle, but with a pair of STS turbos, that wont be a whole lot.

  • um i def thought the sound was just the vacuum caused by the turbo like im 100% sure that not the bov

  • the less of turbo u here the more bost there is because the bost is going to the motor not through the bov

  • LOL, wut??

  • nice vid, but doesn't sound like much boost

  • corvettes don't take much boost :P

5 psi on a vette is a lot different than 5 psi on a civic
