is it true that all roosters have spurs? cuz i have a chicken wich i think is a new jersey giant, and it does not have spurs.

FINALLY..............someone with a REAL Jersey Giant. I raise them and am amazed at what some people consider Jersey Giants that arent. Whoever you bought him from did sold you a good bird. When you breed him keep the protein for the chicks under control or you will have problems later on.

i never thought i would love a rooster but i do. he is younger than this one and seems to be undergoing changing attributes. more chicken sounds. meaner.

he cries in the dark. will a light in his pen stop him from screaming(?) (crowing?) in the morning. he isnt doing that yet.

what do you feed this one?

how do i cut his wings?

you don't cut his wings.... you don't cut it claws... it needs those for self defense and other things like food baths and everything.. you love em .

SpitRhyma: This is a "YOUNG" rooster. The comb is'nt fully grown yet.

Instead for just look at the comb, look at other things like the feathers and posture.

to be fair he has very small waddles and comb for his size. I've seen Jersey Giant roosters up close and they're usually more "rooster" looking than that. But there's always varieties.

I rarely see light brahma's with big combs or waddles but my LB rooster has HUGE ones!
