Even though I am an atheist, I still "liked" this video because I agree with your theme of "know aht you are talking about" Even though you display the typical xtian philosophical gymnastics to bolster your bias, it is apparent that you really believe what you are saying. The New Testament refers on several occassions to James, the brother of Jesus. And yet Roman Catholics feel the need to cling to the idea of Mary's perpetual virginity. Seems to me there's a very conflicted psychology at play here. They are trying to idealize and personify both the sanctity of motherhood and the purity of virginity in the one character. Kinda ridiculous when you think about it.

Most cases are anthropomorphisms. Take Genesis 8:21: "the Lord smelled a sweet savour". Noah's sacrifice was acceptable to God. It doesn't literally mean that it "smelled good" to God.

The church's purpose is NOT to "guide" us in reading the scriptures. Look at Acts 17:11. The Bereans examined the Scripture for themselves to ensure what Paul said was true. They did NOT depend on someone else to interpret the Bible for them and it is foolish to proceed in such a manner. Also look at 2Tim2:15.

The bible does not contradict itself, because the bible is the Word of God and God never contradict itself. it is the wrong interpretations that contradict themselves. To be clear on this, only the catholic church interprets the bible correctly.

1) The light was created on the first day and the suns & moons created on the fourth day, how come light exists even before the creation of sun.

@TheHinduYogi Your post is 10 months old so you might not remember it, but I can answer your questions. 1) Astronomers / Scientists tell us that photons (particles of light) were the most abundant things created in the big bang and they existed long before the stars and planets. 2) The account in Genesis is a creation myth, meaning it's not really true, just like many things in Hinduism aren't, including its creation myth. Also, Genesis is the JEWISH part of the Bible, not the Christian part.

He established a church to guide us. the bible was never meant to be interpreted by everyone. that would be like everyone interpreting the constitution as they see fit and acting on that interpretation. When the constitution itself says there is one body who has the right to interpret it.

God did not make it hard to find the right meaning, people have made it hard by going their own path, and not following the path Jesus pointed us on.

Jesus left us not with a bible, but with a Church, the Bible came much later. The Bible does not point to itself as being "authority", but clearly states that it is the Church which is "the pillar and foundation of truth". (1Tim3:15)

Do not blame God for the consequences of men following their own will instead of His direction.

Name me one thing that humans put their hands on that they haven't messed up eventually one way or the other. Put that in the equation with a Christian denomination understanding the bible today the same way it understood it in 370AD can only show the hand of God involved. Only one has stayed the same.

They happened for the same reason Nazi Germany, Twin Towers, abortion, Rawanda, China, (the list goes on) happened and all at much greater #s individually then any Catholic-based combined. A lot of the contradictions on that website, I noticed, could only be construed as contradictions if one mistakenly gives God human charecteristics and limits God to only human capabilities.

This I believe is a tendency that some people who are proud exhibit. They (most likely unconsciously) think so much of themselves, they have a hard time comprehending that God has more abilities then we. Which explains why many who think this way find it so hard to believe in Him at all.
