  • What kind of king-trombone do you play? Wonderful tone!!

  • god i wish i could double tongue :l i've had lazy band teachers since i've been in 5th grade and they never pressured me into being a better player, and now being a senior in highschool, i wish i had all these skills but i dont

  • @IsolatedBullet Don't blame your teachers! You are just as capable of going out there and teaching yourself. If you wanted to learn how you would have found out without their help.

  • @Kitts90 Actually i didnt even know wat that was until this year? So that's totally possible right?

  • @IsolatedBullet I never learned on how to double/tripple tongue until college. I turned out just fine. Just practice on it

  • @Kitts90 lol and now there's a triple tongue? :p man i got a lot to learn, but thank you, that makes me feel a lot better, i just look at it like, once you get out of high school college is way different and it's such a higher level band ya know? And i wanna be the best i can be and be able to perform at those levels, so that's why looking back, it angers me that i had such lazy teachers

  • @IsolatedBullet double and triple tonging are close. just double tonguing is stuff like 4 sixteenth notes compared to triple tonguing being triplets. just use youtube and look up all these videos to get your help. =)

  • @IsolatedBullet There is also doodle tonguing, which is what Bob McChesney and a lot of other jazz players do.

  • @Kitts90 Eh, I slightly disagree with your statement. I didn't have lessons the whole time I was in high school, couldn't afford it and since I was the only one in the band interested we couldn't just have someone come out I DID go out and teach myself several things, worked on my tone and did a lot of stuff that put me ahead of A LOT of other people that had private teachers going into college, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't teach myself multiple tonguing.

  • @matthewharris065 i am in the same position now. of course, im a trumpeter and a freshman, but similar cases.
