  • RIP JF Doesn't the end sound like a Bill Cosby Show ending? I miss my Roto-Toms = 6", 8" and 12"

  • @susbider - Me too...!

    R.I.P. big Joe.

  • This song came to mind immediately when I heard the news.

  • The best theme song for a boxer!

    R.I.P. smokin' Joe!

  • The best theme song for a boxer!

    R.I.P. somin' Joe!

  • RIP Joe

  • God Bless Joe.

  • musicians knew about jeff berlin..great bass player sure in jaco;s shawdow a bit--but back then who gave a shit if you were good and played great and put of good tunes...more power to you...and jaco aint a bad dude to be in proximity with...

  • Great track on a great album

  • This song really does give the feel of the workhorse Joe Frazier getting in the ring and getting busy for 15 rounds. The title is very appropriate, great music and a great fighter!!

  • @treetoptop Your fingers feel like your have been boxing after attempting to play this song on bass.

This song is a workout for the fingers too. Jeff has some amazing hands.

I got the solo (almost) down.

  • It's a fun piece.

  • Who's the bass player? It's all "Pastoriusy"

  • @generix83 look above

  • @generix83

It's Jeff Berlin. Emerged on the bass scene at the same time as Pastorius so no one knows about him.

  • @moffigreen

Damn, mid 70s then? Did he have the same bass sound and style back then?

  • @moffigreen Probably but it's more likely to be due to Mr Berlin's ideology on music education and the media's involvement around the music business. this is just my opinion... he's got an amazing school "the players school of music" in Clearwater, Florida. Very talented and unique bass player, still active and restless.

  • Bruford Master Stroke!!

    Berlin Incredible !!

  • Là encore, Bruford me fait penser, à la fin du morceau, à la fin de "Dinner Jacket", extrait de "Babel", de Philip Catherine...

  • Always liked this jam on this album

  • This is a hugely rocking track. All of these guys are legends. Berlin is absolutely on fire, but I love how Dave Stewart totally keeps up with him (and probably wrote the signature riff, a la Sample and Hold).

  • I always wondered if Dave Stewart made a mistake between 2:49-2:50. It sure sounds like a mistake, but sometimes these guys do that stuff on purpose just to mess with me.

  • @shoansnoday Well spotted man !! i transcribed this whole arrangement (all parts) ann never noticed that !! i think it's a GRACE NOTE myself.

  • My brother and I used to play this when we were teenagers. My brother could pretty much play it when he was 18 or 19.

  • Jeff Berlin is somethin'

  • I play bass and to play like Jeff takes an incredible amount of mastery and musical knowledge. Of all the instruments, the bass is the hardest to do this kind of playing on.
