Mein Großvater war als Artillerist in Stalingrad und ist 1947 aus der Gefangenschaft nach Huase gekehrt! Diese Generationen die auf deutscher Seite im 2. WK gekämpft haben, waren noch richtige Helden. Heute gibt es nur noch wenige von diesen Schlag. Ich wünschte ich hätte an eurer Seite gelegen und gekämft! Ruhet in Frieden eurer unermesslichen Taten für unsere Heimat!

The war was obviously lost, yet they still kept fighting til the very fucking end... Nobody would have that amount of commitment nowadays... These brave men were so HEROIC its hard to comprehend. @trajan1970 You know that in most cases bravery came from being unable to be taken POW, SS and wehrmacht had no mercy in first stages of Barbarossa so Soviets did revenge on them and SS had to fight to death because they would be tortured and executed.

Man mag über Stalingrad denken was man will,es war die linke Flanke der HeeresGr, Süd.Sie mußte geschützt und verteidigt werden.Man sollte sich auch vor Augen führen das die Stadt 40x65 Km ausdehnung hatte.Und das hinter Stalingrad bis zur Reichsgrenze keine eigenen Kräfte mehr standen, deshalb war der durchhalte Befehl auch richtig.

Es starben keine Russen sondern Bolschewisten & Kommunisten!! Es kämpften 250.000 - 300.000 Russen auf der Seite von Hitler. Treue Verbliebene des Zaren, die Hitler als Befreier ansahen. Es war ein Heiliger Feldzug gegen den Welt-Bolschewismus und wir haben verloren. Die Rote Flagge über Berlin und somit auch über halb Europa war die größte Schande. In these videos I see all these german, french, european /et cetera/ people fighting in the streets of Berlin in 1945. What the hell were these people thinking? The war was obviously lost, yet they still kept fighting til the very fucking end... Nobody would have that amount of commitment nowadays... These brave men were so HEROIC its hard to comprehend. RESPECT.

@DrakenPL @Hicks666 is correct the vast majority of SS & Heer soldiers that fought for the Third Reich in Berlin were foreign volunteers and in todays benefit, take take take culture it is dificult to comprehend the bravery & sacrifice of these fighting men whether you agree or disagree with what the were fighting for.

@trajan1970 You know that in most cases bravery came from being unable to be taken POW, SS and wehrmacht had no mercy in first stages of Barbarossa so Soviets did revenge on them and SS had to fight to death because they would be tortured and executed.
I'm respecting every soldier who fought for their country, but in tv you hear only about the most known, what about Polish volounteers who fought in Western, Southern and Eastern Front to be forgotten in coomunist regime.

@DrakenPL Whilest I agree with you about the SS Divisions being unable to surrender due to the war crimes attributed to them throught Barbarossa I suggest you read Léon Degrelles account of the breakout through hells gate from the Korsun-Cherkassy Pocket, This is mass heroism at its very best fleeing a brutal enemy.
I also take your point regarding Military History chnnels fixation with the 'Famous' armys especially the US Army, and there Generals
