The Conquest II CE-441 has to be considered up there with this one as one of the best TP's out there ever. I've flown the 425, 441, and B200 and the 441 with -10's are far faster and more effecient than the standard B200 king air. I see 310-315 ktas day in day out in the winter at 27 or 28k ft on less fuel than that king air. I'm not taking anything away from the King Air, just saying that Cessna did it right when they made the 441. It's too bad they do not still make it!
Have a look at the Russian built Tupolev TU-95 Bear. Four-engined turboprop high-altitude bomber capable of 510 kts. I used to fly a King Air 300 - stock, it did 310 TAS.
@yourcptspeaking That's like comparing a C-152 doing 130kts and a C-172 doing 125kts, and saying"'well a C-172 can do 125kts easy." Yea, it's a bigger airplane with a bigger engine.
very few can do it, but it indeed is possible...the Jetstream J41 cruises at around 300 knots, the Saab 200 cruises at 360 kts, and the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 also cruises at 360 kts
@sideslide23 True airspeeds of 300+ knots in turbo props is not impossible Piaggio Avanti registers a true airspeed of 320 kts. If you watched this video, you would have seen this B200 passing true airspeed of over 315 kts.
it sure was 300+ kts. However you never showed in the video what your temps and torques were? Running it so hot to get 300 kts will be not so nice when you got to overhaul the engines at 3500 hrs cause there cooked. It seemed quite loud what was the prop setting 1800-1900 RPM?
The PT6A-52 engine is designed for higher temps...820 degrees ITT. In the video they were running approx. 815 to get the 318 knots. Prop RPM was 1700-1800. FYI...the TBO on these engines is 3,600.
@PollardAircraft Whereas a -41 or -42 will temp out at 750 C, I like the -60's because they're so easy to rig (as an A&P Mech) and if I ever met a -52 I'm sure I would like it too. I work on -41's now and there's an "art" to rigging these.
At 7:20 you get a pretty clear view of the gauges, looks like they're running at ITT red line. At 6:45 you hear one of the guys saying he wanted to see how it ran at "19", so I think that they bumped it up to 1900 RPMs there, and got one extra knot (up to 317 from 316).
The King Air I fly is an A100, with -28 engines; ITT red line is at 750, but we run ours at 680 max and get about 7500 hrs between overhauls.
I did my Commercial Instrument and Multi at Meacham Field. Use to see Olive Beech come in just about every week, in a KA-200 those were top of the line back then. 1976 Acme School of Aeronautics, The old blue FAA test guides. I would not mind flying that airplane at all.
I got like 12 bonners with the KingAir <3

That is some impressive performance for a BE20. I'm usually excited to see 318 for GS, never mind TAS.
Wow.

Thank you for your comment, but you have been misinformed. There are many turboprops that are faster than 300 knots including this KA200 GTO.

Sorry I thought that the C130 and the Beachcraft Starship was the fastest Turbo Prop in the world.
