To fight, and at the same time, handle any casualties on the battlefield, is really tough. I think the job of an Combat medic is much more tougher than paramedic.
As a retired USAF Medic I salute all have served or are serving in a occupation where you allow others to live with out fanfare.I again salute you all former and current military medics.
this is what scares me... My girlfriend is in training now to become a medic in the army... one day she will be the one out there getting shot at trying to save someones life. Thank you for this tribute!!!
Very well done! Good song choice! I am a medic, and a tactical medic but I can't imagine being a combat medic. I have so much respect and admiration for all of you guys out there that do that. Thank you.
If you want to see how medical care continues for our wounded watch an Air Force Flight Medic and team performing their duties in Iraq. He is very devoted to our troops and there for his 3rd time, check out my brother, search for Jeremy May Iraq. Jeremy is a Nursing student at UNLV when not deployed most of his time with the Calif Air Nat'l Guard in the Middle East.
One can not say enough about the Combat Madics. We called our Medic in VietNam "Doc Feel Good"for good reason. His Name was Frank Quig(sp).I hope he's had a good life.He earned it.
As A Army Medic Wife I seen the 1st Cav patch and that made me tear up. My husband was with them his first deployment. I think whoever did this video did an outstanding job. He showed all that Medics stand for. I am proud of what my husband has done and I am proud to be a Army wife.
man, those medics are true lifesavers, they do what can sometimes only be described as miracles, as someone enlisting in the marines soon, and from a military family, god bless, you have my full respect, you may not be the best shot, but you are truely the most couragous. semper fi!
I leave for Basic in mid January, I've lost 2 classmates in Iraq, both Marines,...They are my reasons for my drive to be a medic, this video touched a place I didnt know I had, thank you...
be ready to give your life at a moments notice, and good luck with basic. trust me, once you get the chance to know you saved someone's life, there is no greater feeling.
True, there's no feeling like saving a life. I've said it before and I'll say it again, any man can shoot a rifle in a bad firefight, but it takes a real man to sling that rifle and render aid to a wounded comrade in the middle of said firefight. Wish I could still do it. Was hit with IED in 03, took shrapnel and herniated 5 discs in my back. Can't even be an EMT or Paramedic now :(. Yay for GI Bill and Army college fund though.
thats great aint it not one motherfucker slagging off no medics calling them pussies coz they cant kill what i say is if one of them was killing and not saving me i wouldent be watching this video
Excellent video. I was in the bush with the 3/21, 196th Light Infantry Brigade in 1969 when Daniel "Doc" Shea was killed saving the lives of others. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his sacrifice.
Thanks for the tribute to all of us who have the opportunity to save those who fight the battles. Its an honor for me to fight among my fellow brothers, and I wouldnt trade it for anything.
Nice work. No matter which country ,part youre in we need to treat who is in danger life is the most important thing in this world and god gave to us.
Thank you vellinn I appreciate you understanding what they do. THats the whole point in this video. Made it for a close friend of mine that left to become a Corpsman a week ago
