I like it! They seem to get along very well especially for Cichlids. I have a 29 gallon tank and know that mine is kind of small for cichlids but how many of any type do you think I could fit in mine? I will have a larger female to male ratio.
Sorry, I just read your post about the hiding spot. Yeah that's a tough call that I was forced to make adjustments. I kept just the right amount of cichlids that enabled them to each have their own nice territory. It's a tough call though cause you want a variety of cichlids.
I've seen Brichardi almost as big as a full size Oscar. I like when they're grown up you can see their fangs. I read the post where you said your brichardi died. You might need to put more lava rocks and plants to give your cichlids some hiding spots. jmo =)
Your obliquiden is massive compared to mine. How old are these fish? Very cool cichlids none the less. And your brichardi is massive too. I've never seen them all in their adult form before, just small. 5 stars
There is less fish in there now but I've found that hiding spots make them fight more over territory so that why I don"t make any. They make there own caves.
Some great looking fish, I've got one of the black striped cichlids as well (1.10-1.18m) in a tank I inherited but as yet I haven't bin able to identify. Do you know it's name? It's about 2" long and sometimes shows a lemon background like yours.

Yours and mine are females because of the rounded fins and less color. That is a convict cichlid and I would get rid of him because he will cause problems. Get rid of the driftwood because it lowers the PH of the water and you want it at 8.3 for african cichlids. And the other fish are female peacock cichlids. The males have more colors and pointed fins.
Nice tank. I have alot of the same fish. i subbed . Check mine out and please sub back

I would recommend adding hiding places (rocks) it will reduce aggressive behaviors and promote spawning

These fish all range from 2-7 years old. The brichardi has since passed on with no apparent reason, he was about 4-5.

If I add any more caves or structure they start fighting more over territories the older they get.
ABurckhard83 2 years ago
bit overcrowded, but i guess it keeps em from fightin over territories
