If you're just getting into 1911's, I would go with something a little less expensive first. Something like a Rock Island Armory GI or Tactical model would be great, relatively inexpensive way to get into the 1911 game.
And if you decide you don't like the platform (1911's aren't for everybody), then you won't be out a lot of money.
Just some friendly advice. Good luck and have fun!
@Immortal91Technique Recommending someone a garbage gun like the Rock Island isn't friendly advice, it's downright irresponsible. Out of spec, poor quality control, complete train wrecks of manufacturing those are. Yes, you may get lucky and get one that "Durrrrrr mine shoots just fine" but that doesn't mean it's not battering itself to pieces inside. Try to build a proper custom off one of their frames and you'll see what I mean.
@notsofunnyman24 S&W Pro Series 1911 in 9mm. I shot one in Stainless, the trigger was incredible. It has that nice weight that the 1911s do, so with 9mm there is hardly any recoil.
I don't see the point in having a tritium front sight if you don't have night sights in the back. It would be just as hard to acquire a good sight picture in the dark as it would be with stock sights.
@LocutusIsBorg A lot of people do that. Adding tritium to the back sights makes them look MUCH bigger when shooting because they are closer to the eye. Thusly making it hard to focus on your front sight like you are suppose to. With only the front sight tritium all you have to do is pick up that sight. If you can see it then you are not misaligned.
I bet the first comments that got removed were people saying "first" or some bullshit like that..jezz when will people learn to just write a regular comment or say nothing at all...it really isn't that hard.

Nearly everybody who buys one seems to like them, and they're backed up by a fantastic warranty from a company with great CS.
Nice attempt at trolling, though. You almost got me.

not interested in your lifestyle or your invitation..
I'm sure you will say we treat "everyone" the way you feel you were treated..
of course it's only those who come here with no respect that get none in return
but I'm sure you don't think you are a rude a-hole, so this will all be ignored.. as you will be from now on..
enjoy your life... somewhere else

$1200 + the light and all the other parts and gunsmithing.. add it up genius
sure, some run of the mill stock version is cheaper, but that isn't what that guy asked..
do research before you attempt to offer advice

@LocutusIsBorg
have you shot much at night? I have no problem with them, if there is no other light how do you see non glowing sights?
GunWebsites 8 months ago
@GunWebsites All I'm saying is, having front glow-sights and not rear ones is only solving half the problem.
