Gary is not a fucking ghost town. There are just alot of of abandoned properties scattered throughout...Take a drive through and see for yourself. Gary isnt the best place in the world but it aint the worst either.

Graduation rates have gone up, crime rates have gone down, and the mean income is increasing.... All while "whites" remain a very, very slim minority.

It's because of the steel mills.

Have crime rates gone down in Gary? I just heard that it hit the high mark as the most murders per capita of any city. I don't think things are getting better there. Sad for all!

US Steel's production has not declined significantly, BUT US Steel has petitioned the State (Mitch Daniels) to pay less and less taxes, while still making great profits.
