It's an excellent weapon. Lightweight and accurate with a good rate of fire. It's able to fire grenades and anti tank rounds. It also has a bipod for stability when firing from prone. The three round burst setting is useful for conserving ammo while still putting down good covering fire. It's short length is also useful when firing from vehicles.
In all the time I used it I never had a mechanical failure or stoppage unlike certain other more common weapons I've used.

Im glad the french had the balls to make their own rifle with the Kiraly system and not the usual direct gas impingement or piston. Its better than just reconfigure an armalite like our British SA80 which turned out shit at first. The EM 2 would of been the best bull pup though. Vive Le Clarion!
To those who base off there knowledge of the Famas off COD, please fuck off. This weapon here is very reliable and deadly, doesn't breakdown very easily if im correct. This weapon has different variant as well, some Spec ops units love to use this weapon.

@Djkl28 Based on that logic, Russian equipment is superior to American weapons just because a lot more countries or groups use more AKs & RPGs, MIGs & Sukhois than all the American weapons. The FAMAS turned out to be a quality weapon & was an early bullpup that became quite successful. The French have improved their designs & manufacturing skills - Their cars, aircraft, copters & firearms are actually very good. And to trumpet the M4 is ironic when US troops dislike the weapon themselves?

I used a famas F1 5.56 NATO in the 3rd squadron of the 4th dragons regiment on a 200m firing range, and i can tell you the only nob a bit under the back iron sight is to take to pieces the rifle (on the both side of the carrying handle). The sergeant-major who teach us to use the famas never tell us the rifle can shoot 4 or 5 burst

@Nickmuzi near the trigger, the selecter is safety when parallel with the barrel, single shot whent on the right side, automatic mode when on the left side. Under the butt of the weapon, a nob allows to chose between 3 burst or full automatic when the selecter is on the left side. Nothing more.

@Sterben10 They're part of the "Vigipirate" plan, that is a military operation which has begun in the 90s to provide terrorists attacks ou major troubles in French's large public places, such as the Eiffel tower, airports, stations, subway etc.
Often, it's a mission give to the reservists. They have to patrol, and show their presence to dissuade terrorists acts. Here they are guys from an infantry regiment of the 2nd Armored Brigade I think...

As an american, the M4 sucks. Its got a midget caliber size and it jams like no other. and the SCAR is great, but still isn't better than to its foreign competition. The US army chose the SCAR over a superior US built rifle. Amazing.. the US cannot stop outsourcing even if it means under-equipping our troops. Us Americans hate our government right now.
